HR during weight training

Hi everyone!

Just wondering what people's HR are when they perform weight training?

When I do mine, even when I am doing what I would consider fairly intense movements, I cannot get my HR above say 120-130 bpm, which is much less when I go running.

Thanks in advance!

I have never checked my HR during weight training because it's not for heart health it's for strenght.

That is why HRM are not recommened for this.

But then how do you gage whether you're working hard enough? is it just from muscular strain?

Sorry am kinda new to all this, am normally a runner but would like to get a stronger core to minimise recurring injury..

    Depends on individual goals.

If your going for strength, when you can no longer see progress with increasing the weight of your lift even after deloading several times.

If your goal is hypertrophy, its when you no longer see progress with growth of muscles your are focusing on.

If its endurance, its not being able to withstand or exceed an exercise time perhaps reps range you are aiming for.

It also depends on what exercises you are doing. You mention core strength, there are many ways to accomplish this. What are you doing for core strength?
