I just joined, so I'm a first timer! Any team is fine :)

I'm in the US, and I don't find that doctors dismiss psychiatric care at all. It's actually quite the opposite in my experience. When I (45 year old female) visit my primary care doctor or my OBGYN, they both ask about my mental health, and are in complete agreement when I give them an update that includes my psychiatrist…

There's a balance between not caring at all and obsessing about other opinions. The ideal IMO is somewhere in the middle. The way I'm reading the above part of your post is that you are saying peoples opinions of us are the main reason for all of the psychological and mental health issues of today, is that correct? I…

Wow, I strongly disagree with your doc! I'm 45, 5'5" and currently weigh 239, my calorie goal is about 1450 (I have my goal set to a 2 lb loss per week). I started at 265 and have been steadily losing (26 lbs so far). Every body is different, and of course I have no idea what your situation or medications are for your…

Welcome to MFP! I love that you're already looking at this as being slow and steady, that's a great mindset! My goal is about 70 lbs and I'm down 27 lbs so far. You can definitely do this! Feel free to add me as a friend :)

Welcome to MFP! I've never used any official programs, so I can't relate to your experience there, but I have been here over 10 years. I'm a boredom eater, and have been a binge eater (although I've made huge improvements with the binges). My best advice is to take it slow and steady. Many people arrive here and want to…

You've gotten great advice here. Prep, prep, prep! The little bit of extra work before your shift will really pay off. When I worked 3rd shift, I never ate a full meal during my work hours. I would bring 3-4 snacks with a good mix of protein, fats, and carbs. Also, drink plenty of fluids! Quite often you can want to snack…

You've gotten a lot of great advise here, so I only have one thing to add. As far as exercise calories go, I use my Fitbit to track mine. As Ann said above, they can definitely be inaccurate, but you know you still burned something. I will typically eat back about half of my exercise calories, and that seems to be a good…

What do you have your activity level set to here? If you set your activity level to sedentary and say you want to lose 2 lbs a week, it will automatically set your calories to 1200. As another poster said, it does you no good to go below 1200. I have a similar overall goal, but I have several mini weight loss goals along…

I've been here for 11 years, with many highs and lows. My main goal now is to be consistent, to realize that we are all human and fall off the track sometimes, but not to let it derail me completely. Thankfully, my fiancée is incredibly supportive, recognizes my ups and downs, and is always encouraging. I often seem to…

Egg roll in a bowl! It is so good, super simple to make, and pretty good macros(11g carbs, 10g fat, 25g protein). Ground turkey, cabbage, green onions, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, and a touch of sesame oil.

Weekends can be difficult since they're different from a "normal" M-F schedule. I find if I can stay busy on a weekend I'm less likely to over eat. For example, on Saturdays I have an exercise class at 8:30am, afterwards I head home and eat breakfast. Then I try to do something with my son, like basketball or swimming.…

Ooooh, I like you.

Right? And a slight trim, Jessie's scissors must still be in her house somewhere!

Omg, the dog! "This is what I think of your weight brah."

You are such a great success story! I always appreciate your logical responses in the forums, and you have lost your weight in such a great and healthy mindset, congratulations! You look fantastic :)

I have Mirena, and my BF is on the longer side lol, and he has no issue with the strings. And I can't even feel it up there, not once has it been uncomfortable since I've had it.
-
I fully agree, this is a great response! I also have the Mirena IUD, and have had no problems losing weight.

I am uncrushable because I fought my way out of an abusive relationship, and an alcoholic relationship, and am now happily standing on my own 2 feet. I am uncrushable because I have overcome my past self hate, and have learned to embrace who I am and what I am capable of. I am uncrushable because I am learning to put my…

Definitely look into the financial assistance. Also, I have a family membership for 4 of us and that's $65 per month. Will anyone else in your family use it with you? Not sure how old your kid/s are, but my 6 year old and 14 year old LOVE the Y.

Oh I watched the miracle, that was an amazing game. Still can't believe the Superbowl. I'm still happy they made it, which is more than I can say for my Browns!
-
^^^Love this!

And they kinda did in the first half of this season. Tara and Glenn were fishing in the river with the net made out of jacket mesh (or something like that).

5 more days...I think I can make it. My Sunday nights just haven't been the same!

I don't see the things you've listed as sabotage. Sure, telling you you're going to quit in a few months is not supportive, but it's not sabotage. Secretly adding extra oil, telling you something is low cal when it's not, literally forcing you to eat food is sabotage. It makes it harder when the people around us do not…

When I still lived in Seattle, the Hawks were pretty much awful, but we cheered them on anyway. We used to jokingly refer to them as the Sea Chickens. I will always be a Browns fan since they're my home team, but it's nice to have my secondary team still alive in the postseason (since I am not holding my breath for the…

Love my Buckeyes, that was an awesome game to watch last night. Totally worth getting about 4 hours of sleep before work today ;)
