Not sharing pics. My husband is a purple belt. My kids have been doing it for years too. I started only in November. Had to take three months off earlier this year due to broken elbow and chipped shoulder. Now nearly all healed and back at it 4-5 times a week and sometimes twice a day.

I jits...but I'm not a guy

I finally started jits in November and absolutely love it. I shoot for 5-6 times per week.

This thread is absolutely amazing. I needed to see/read all of this today. I'm nowhere near BMI normal range so there are no pictures to post but I have to say I'm more encouraged and motivated seeing all of your pictures. Age:43 Height/Weight: 5'5"/ 182-185 (currently in recomp, beginning cut next week), lost 50 pounds so…

I've only started lifting at the beginning of the year after finally recovering from back surgery last year. My numbers seem pathetic compared to these others but I'm pretty proud. My max is: Squat: 115 Bench: 77 DL: 135- not gonna lie, I totally got teary when I hit the plate as did my trainer. He and I have been through…

I think I'd like to try this and really challenge myself. Here's to 60 minutes!

Does 2 hours of yard work count? It included cutting the front yard with a push mower, weeding and sweeping. Plus cleaning out the garage.

I had a micro in January 2017. I found a trainer and explained to him my issues and began working with him May 2017. He understood and came up with a program to help strengthen my back. Now, admittedly i pushed too hard and had to go back for injections. However, I've not had any issues since November. I still have some…

My husband and I both have Thunderfit that I ordered from Amazon. I prefer the thin rings and the brighter colors. He prefers the thicker ones and has several different colors as well. We both kept forgetting to put our bands back on after lifting and jiu jitsu. These did the trick. I'd suggest ordering a half size smaller…

I grew up eating this in Florida, too. However, it was never on lettuce as that was too healthy and we didn't add the cherry. Our salad dressing was mayo. Not that Miracle Whip crap. Real mayo mixed with lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, etc.

Always go for the grits!

Driver's licenses have weight listed on them? Mine doesn't.

I haven't picked an end goal. I started at 230 and my first goal was to get under 200. Once I got there, I set it for another 10 pounds. Once I got there, I set it for another 10 pounds. Now that I'm 179 and have lost 50, I will continue in smallish increments (10 pounds). I will know my ultimate goal when I get there by…

$25 session. 1 hour long, 3 times per week for lifting. He also writes workouts for me to do myself.

Asking as someone who has had surgery on both Achilles tendons, has your podiatrist done an xray of the tendons? Since nothing else is working, I'm wondering if it really is tendinitis. I'm thinking no.

I have PVCs as well. I've never had any issues with it from working out. The only time they bother me is when I've not eaten enough or especially when I've not had enough water.

Never ever pass up nachos. It's got to be a sin.

I wish someone had told me the other day...

I had it almost a year ago. My ortho, PT, and Neuro were all surprised I could walk bc it was so bad. The recovery was tough. The first week sucked. Won't even sugar coat it. It helped immensely though do it was worth it. I started back at the gym with a trainer in May. I had to wait til tax season ended and my schedule…

I hit the button last night to up my calories to maintenance too. I figured since I was officially on vacation til Jan 3, then so is the diet. It was both scary yet exciting. I didn't quite meet my goal last night bc I started it kinda late. I'm struggling with the mental part of it though. I go to eat something but my…

This is exactly what I've done. I started at 230. First goal was 199. Met it. New goal is 180. I will reevaluate when i get to that weight. For me, smaller goal increments work best. I can handle a 20 pound goal whereas an 80 pound goal seems intimidating. I'm down 36 so it's working so far for me.

I have herniated discs and sciatica. The MRI was super scary. All doctors, ortho, Neuro, pain mgmt and PT were surprised I could even walk. I had surgery in January of this year. Once I survived tax season (I'm an accountant), I started with a personal trainer who knew my limitations. I still have sciatica issues with pain…
