New low vs Nacho night!

So you have been doing the right thing, you've weighted your food, tracked your goals. you step on the scale and see a new low but you know the math says you should still have more weight loss to appear, maybe its tomorrow?

BUT

Its nacho night. Typically followed by a few days of water weight and sodium fun..

What do you do?

I'm having the nachos!

    Say Yes to the nachos.

Weight will do its thing a day slower. Or not. Yesterday I ate 1600 calories over my goal. This morning I was down .6 pounds.

Have the nachos. It'll push your goal weight back a couple of days, but this is a marathon, not a sprint.

Have the nachos. Which I'm doing Sunday night for our usual Super Bowl dinner.

I had Chinese last night and was up 1.5 today. I know it'll go away soon.

I vote for nachos but within my calories for the day. (This is when it's really great to have a decently high calorie goal.)

Funny. Tomorrow will be a nacho or wings night for me (Jets are playing Vegas) and no idea what Sunday will bring. Be up from water weight more than any actual fat. It'll show but to hell with it. :)

Ugh. Why did you have to bring this up AFTER nacho night and a 816 Cal overage yesterday?

Followed by equaling lowest 2018 single value weigh in today and down 0.5lbs from yesterday?

Only one 16oz beer, so no dehydration!

Sometimes it just doesn't make sense on a single day basis! (current thinking: weight of food in transit  )

Or... Nachos and beer diet for the win!!!

Hey. @pav8888 says it work, and they are pretty smart so I'm going on the Nacho and beer diet.

If I don't lose weight I'm blaming you!

Had a similar thing happen to me. Wasn't nachos, but wings and something else plus beer and was down almost a pound the next day.

I'd get the nachos and just wait until next week to weigh in again.

Is that even a question? Nachos. Screw the water weight, it'll come back off in a couple days.

And congrats on the new low.

Don't throw away a weeks progress for half an hour's eating

What if the nachos fit in OP's goal? Even if they don't maybe having the nachos will actually help keep them on target going forward.

Or...he doesn't deprive himself and enjoys one night that could be over goal and way over sodium

Have the nachos!! It's one day, one meal really! If you feel guilty try to fit them in to your calorie goal! I've got a birthday party Saturday and super bowl party on Sunday. I refuse to miss out on the fun and yummy food. I'm gonna squeeze in an extra workout, try to budget my calories to fit in as much as possible and allow myself to go over on at least one of the days. I know the scale will be up on Monday from the sodium, but it is what it is!

The way I read it, OP wants to cheat on the diet for nacho night. That's well and good if that's what you plan for, but my opinion is it's not worth it to ruin a good thing for a short term want if it's not part of a plan.

Where did you read the part about the cheat? I don't see it. Because I can read.
