That is supposed to say - I have logged my weight for years on mfp. Where has it gone????!!!!

I'll be 50 in 1.5 years and want to be fifty and fabulous. Also I've had some health scares recently which have kicked me up the backside. I've joined a boot camp to get me started fitness wise and I'm trying to eat clean using the boot camp"s recipes. I'm hoping I can keep it up, 9.5 pounds down and 60.5 pounds to go.

Like some of the others have said increase your daily cals just a little, so you eat the same amount every day, don't think of it as a quick fix, do it slowly and surely and make it a habit to log everything you consume. You can have the odd day off for special occasions, but get back to it the next day. A loss of a pound…

I burn on average 500 to 600 calories doing a 60 min zumba class according to my hrm. When logging my exercise on mfp I take 175 cals off the total though. I worked out that from doing nothing or just pottering about I burn 175 calories an hour anyway, I measured this with my hrm. So from then on I always take the 175 cals…

Anyone?

You just need to do toning up now as suggested previously.
-
You don't need to loose any weight, 140 is my eventual goal and I'm 5' 6". You'll be too skinny if you loose any more weight. Try just maintaining instead.
-
You'll do I suppose Looby, lol.

Thank you

I just got a HRM too last week a Polar FT7 which comes with a chest band and you can change the batteries yourself unlike some of them. Its been great so far.
-
I've just had a heart rate monitor and I'm going to try it out at zumba on Monday, will let you know how it compares to the website.
-
Thanks I ended up with a Polar FT7 in the end (red and silver) which I had for my birthday. Can't wait to try it out.

Thanks for that guys, I have been looking at the reviews as well as your advise and I think its a toss up between the Polar FT7 and the FT40. Any preferences peeps?
-
I have looked at the Polar FT4F on-line but someone said you have to send it away for new batteries. Is this the case? How long do batteries last?
-
Thank you for that Air I will look at it, but can anyone else add to this that has tried and tested one please?

MFP already calculate the number of calories you should have a day to loose weight without exercising. You must eat at least some of the exercise calories you have used otherwise you will starve your body.

15 stone which is 210 pounds, it was only for a day but that was it.

I think its 30 days to form a habit. I've copy/pasted all that infor from that article on to a word document and I'm going to print it then pin it on to my fridge. I eat most of them but not all.

Try the zumba 2 for the wii

My word! you lot are wearing me out just reading your comments. I've gone from total couch potato last October to doing 2 days a week of Zumba (1hr classes). I am going to start a 3rd class next week. I also do zumba 2 on the wii occasionally. I've never liked exercise or sport even as a kid (I was very skinny though), so…

That's the one I've got too and it is good.

I'm a 34j, I go to BRAVISSIMO, there are a few shops dotted around the UK and you can order on-line or by mail order. I recommend you go to the shop though as they make sure the bras fit properly. You'll be surprised how different your size will be to what you thought. They always make it tighter around the chest under the…

If you are exercising you can eat back the calories burned. If not, change your settings to loose just 1 pound a week and you'll prob be able to have 1400 cals a day. I tend to try to keep my cals between 1200 and 1500, depending how hungry I am and I'm still loosing, slow but sure. Hope this helps.

I hate exercise too and have always avoided it like the plague. I was always at the back for cross country running at school. I started doing zumba a couple of months ago and I'm hooked. I go to classes twice a week and play Zumba 2 on the Wii. Try it its a great laugh. Try other exercise classes too and see which ones…

Eat like a king in the morning and a pauper in the evening. Remember food is a fuel to keep you going. You need more in the morning to get you going, then throughout the day to keep you going, but you don't need much in the evening unless you have a 'very' active night life. lol.

I don't eat much meat these days and I totally dislike fish. EGGS and QUORN keep my protein topped up. But I do like, nuts, seeds and beans too.

Can you report an instructor for using the weights if they are not trained to do so, but are trained to do the basics? I went to one class and they were doing MJ's Thriller which didn't do anything for me, then she got us using the sticks. I walked out as I didn't get anything from the class.

The fat content is supposed to be a lot lower than real mince. I'm eating less meat these days as we've all gone off it. So we are eating a lot more quorn products. Some are higher calories than others so you have to be careful. The meatballs are nice with pasta, pesto and roast meditteranian veggies.
