I'm at 2.5 years that I've kept off 60 lbs. I'd like to lose 10 more if I can. I've gained 5 lbs from my lowest set weight, but that's a combo of increasing my muscle mass and at times not eating right. I'm 43 and was overweight almost all my life. My heaviest was 265 lbs when I was 30 years old. Here's what worked for me:…

Yes, this! According to the study, I'd be considered a failure. My BMI is 25.5 and I still need to lose about 10 lbs. The study would completely dismiss my 70 lb weight loss that I've kept off for almost 3 years. And even though I wear medium shirts and a size 32" waist pants, they'd still consider me fat. Don't give up.…

Forgot to add, once the weight comes off you can buy things off the rack and not worry too much that they won't fit. I still have to do the length test, but I no longer have to do the "sit test". That is, try a shirt on and sit down to see if my stomach makes it too tight.

The original poster listed: "Sitting (particularly in baths) and laying (particularly in beds) will become ever increasingly uncomfortable." This is 100% true. I moved to a standing desk at work because sitting was uncomfortable. When my family is watching TV, I have to be up and doing something.

Mine was my workplace. I used to work at a very well known Seattle company where the average age of people was around 25. They could work long hours, go out partying, eat whatever they wanted and still looked great. I looked at myself and realized I was the "old, fat guy" in the office. I couldn't do anything about old (I…

I wish there were "Like" buttons for these posts. Everyone looks amazing! I like seeing how happy some of you are in your "After" pictures. It shows just how proud you all are of what you've accomplished.

I love seeing photos where the Before and After pictures look like two different people.

Hi Jen, I'm Joe. I lost 70 lbs in 16 months and I started after my 40th birthday and kept if off for 2+ years so it can be done. The key for me was changing the types of food I ate. I'm happy to share what worked for me if you'd like.

This thread is what keeps me motivated. I love seeing everyone's before and after pics.

I'm in the over 40 crowd too and it's so good to see other people in that age range successfully lose weight. You look fantastic!

This is an amazing transformation! Even in your current picture you look nowhere near 194 lbs.
-
Isn't it amazing what just 20 lbs will do. You look like a totally different person. Great job!

LOL! Thanks! I was celebrating Free Comic Book Day and this was my outfit.

I'm looking for more friends. All (except one) I currently have on MFP have stopped tracking their food, unfortunately. I need more people to keep me accountable.

70 lbs lost in 16 months. I've been able to keep it off for over 2 years now. (I still have 10 lbs to go though)

I'm a bit late (so I hope it's ok I join mid-month) but I need motivation as I've gained 6 lbs in the past 4 months. SW: 250 CW: 180.8 GW: 170
