  • I like the boring flavors tbh. Strawberries and cream is great, and vanilla is easy to add to other things without being overwhelming. I don't like the chocolate flavors much. They remind me too much of SlimFast shakes from the 90s (the shake recipe was different and much grosser then).
  • Welcome. There are lots of great resources to help you on your way. Check out the stickies (most helpful posts) at the top of the forum boards. Great, to-the-point info to help you cut through the BS and avoid many of the pitfalls people make when they first start out. Helped me a lot when I first logged on to MFP. Here…

  • Jeans I didn't try on first. They are now my "motivation jeans."
  • They are pretty tasty, but yeah, 150 calories is tough.
  • I've had my FitBit Blaze for three years and, besides a few hiccups now and then, everything syncs fine for me. Maybe try unlinking your FitBit account with MFP and then relinking. Basically what Milton B said, but I can't tell if they're joking because of the internet.
  • Yep. It's depressing. Peanut butter too! After I got a food scale, I was so sad about those serving sizes :'(
  • Like other posters, I try to eat at maintenance for a few days before/during my TOM. I'd like to say half of my diet around that time isn't straight up chocolate in all forms, but I'd be lying to you, and you seem nice so I won't do that.
  • Things that have helped me stay committed: * I don't look at the changes I've made as a short-term way to drop some weight. This is a forever thing for me, so I had to make changes I could live with for the rest of my life. * I don't have to be perfect 100% of the time, and messing up sometimes isn't a reason to throw in…

  • Sorry for not contributing anything useful to this thead, but...
  • Hard boiled eggs Scrambled egg whites with ketchup (love-it-or-hate-it kind of food) String cheese Fruit (I'm on a nectarine kick atm) Light ice cream (obsessed with Enlightened pints) Frozen meals if I'm rushed or don't plan (Lean Cuisines, Smart Ones) Low-calorie wheat toast with "zero" calorie butter spray (which does…
  • This concept really hit home for me: Don't give up on a goal just because of the time it will take to accomplish it. The time will pass anyway. No one is perfect 100% of the time. When I have a day (or days :# ) I go over my calorie limit by a lot, I just go right back to normal the very next day. Sometimes I cut a few…
  • OP, there's a lot of terrible advice in this thread. It's a bit of a minefield of fad diets, pseudo science, and old wive's tales. There's also some great advice. I'm too lazy to quote, so I'll probably get wooed for this suggestion, but... use the Likes and Woos as a guide to save time. A lot of likes = good. A lot of…
  • Read this. Blunt but true. Gave me a good ol' fashioned wakeup call: http://physiqonomics.com/eating-too-much/
  • Yep! I don't put stock in it at all, but the silly part of me is like "Yeah, gold star baby! On the right track!"
  • Someone may have already covered this, but I came across it in Sam's Club a few days ago and was caught off guard. I really wanted to get some, but I couldn't justify committing to a GIANT Sam's Club-sized box just for a taste. Anyone have it before?
  • Honestly, the forums are what did it for me finally. I've been an MFP member since 2011 and used it to lose weight time and time again (but obviously not permanently). I finally jumped onto the forums and it's made a huge difference! There are so many knowledgeable and successful people here to help. Plus a ton of useful…
  • The Fast 800 is not a good plan. It promotes consuming 800 calories a day, which is obviously significantly less than the bare minimum of 1200 calories/day for sedentary women. It is very difficult to get enough nutrients like calcium, protein, and magnesium on a calorie level less than 1200. Other problems often include…

  • Some diets can help some people control their hunger to avoid going over their calorie limits, though it's whatever works for you.
  • With @Danp here, in that the number on the scale can swing around based many different things. Take a few moments to read this article about scale fluctuations. Very helpful: http://physiqonomics.com/the-weird-and-highly-annoying-world-of-scale-weight-and-fluctuations/
  • Welcome! Sounds like you've been through some things, so glad to see you're back on your road to getting healthy! While losing weight fast is really quite tempting, it's not actually the best way to lose the weight and keep it off in the long term. As they say, slow and steady wins the race! Since you don't actually have…
  • Welcome! It sounds like you're really taking your success seriously this time around. You can do this. There's a great community here to help you on your way! Check out the stickies at the tops of the forum boards. Loads of helpful info. Good luck!

  • Thanks for posting this! Adding it to my list of helpful links :)
  • I go to Sprouts specifically to buy their Sprouts-brand chicken gyoza potstickers. They are sooooo good!
  • Keto can be a good way to control your hunger as some people feel fuller for longer on a higher fat/protein lower carb way of eating. As long as you're able to stay in a calorie deficit (eat fewer calories than you burn), you'll be successful. There are plenty of low carb posts and I believe there's a low carber's group on…
  • The forums are great! I've used MFP on and off for eight years and never was able to stick to using it long term (and, thus, wasn't able to keep the weight off). I started engaging in the forums in the last 3-4 months and they have seriously made all the difference for me. There are so many knowledgeable and supportive…
