Yes. You should do it. Not to win it but to challenge yourself. If you know that you don't swim well then stay clear of other swimmers, if you are only challenging yourself it won't matter if you are the last one out of the water. The challenge for the swim discipline will be to finish the swim unassisted and make a good…

I wanted to get rid of the cable but my wife said if I did she would move back to NYC to live with our daughter. So I'm stuck with it.

Making chocolate white? Putting pineapple or apple on a pizza?

Awesome job!

Next time take 2 to the movies. If one doesn't give it up maybe the other will. Plus, a little healthy competition sometimes pushes people to try harder so who knows, you might get them started trying to prove who's stuff is best.

Met my wife on eHarmony.com 5 years ago. She lived in NYC and I lived in FL. Gave up on trying to find somebody locally that I shared interests with who was not a drug using alcoholic. Nothing against a drink now and then but I certainly don't need to get smashed every day to be happy.

It's not really so vanilla, but it is in short supply so when on vacation I must resort to profile creeping to fill in the excess free time while the wife plays bingo.

After stalking your photos I'm curious, how does one Vajazzle a muppet?

Good shoes are important but even more so for us heavier people when we run. C25K is desiged to be 3 workouts a week always with 1 rest day between so pick days and try to stick with them, I did Mon, Wed and Fri. Most important is that you have to know you can do it. It does get easier. In Feb I coudn't run 3 minutes but…

Your body will generally prefer to burn carbs for energy first, the theory behind the Atkins plan. I'm not sure if this theory is still considered to be valid. Theories come and theories goand most ofusare still battling the overweight battle so who knows what's right, wrong or in between.

Dolphintwin20: BMR is Basal Metabolic Rate, the number of calories your body burns through its normal daily functions. If you stayed in bed all day long (alone, lol) doing absolutely nothing except breathing, that is BMR. TDEE is Total Daily Energy Expenditure, this is BMR plus all the additional calories burned for the…

Don't give up on the couch to 5k. Run as slow as you need to to get it done. Jog no faster than you walk if you have to. It's not a race. Also, if you have to repeat a week 2 or 3 times to work into it then do that. If week 1 takes you a month you will still be a week ahead of EVERYBODY who has not yet begun. Lastly, if…

Impetus Interval Timer is a simple app. No music but if you have another music app I think you can run that in the background. I used this app and jogtracker for C25K before I bought my Garmin.

Nothing better than hostility and opinions with ZERO references cited to confuse a person who is only asking for some guidance. To the OP: what works for 1 may not work for everybody. Try each for a couple weeks or even a month and see how you do. Or combine them and go hard the first workout each week and then the rest of…

Proper running shoes properly fitted for your running stride and then use Couch to 5K (C25K) as a training guide to get you to running your first uninterrupted 3.1 miles. It's how I got started and how many, many others got started and it is proven effective. Speed is not a factor, the goal is to improve your endurance so…

The MIO hrm that you are looking at there DOES NOT have a chest strap. You get hear rate info by touching those 2 electrodes on the front of the watch with your first 2 fingers for a few seconds and it will them read from your fingertips a momentary heart rate. No continuous heart rate means it is not using heart rate to…

I walked into a gym like that about 4 years ago. When I asked why no bars, the manager told me it reduced their liability insurance by half. Must not have been enough since that building is now empty.

As a teen I studied Taekwondo, never really wanted that style since everybody and their brother studies it. But it was the best school in my area. I learned much from that school that I still carry in my mind and heart today. But there was still always the desire to learn something less common. As an adult I studied Choy…

I played coronet in middle school and alto sax in high school. Since I lived with my grand parents and grandpa was a minister a weekly piano lesson was mandatory for a year or so. Since I was making no progress at that he decided to let it go. I bought a new piano about 18 months ago with plans to hire an instructor and…

The black dress shows off your figure better. I'd go with the black, but it certainly wouldn't look as hot on me.

I use a Garmin FR405. It is very dependable and I like it very much. I can turn the gps feature off. I've looked up the manuals for the 210 and can't find anyplace where it says that you can do that. Personally I would recommend the 610 (or 910XT if you are planning to do triathlons). I have used Polar HRMs but that was…

Hey JayTee, I've used ground turkey but never chicken. This was before I decided to start eating healthy so the recipe was Manwich. The lady I was dating then didn't eat red meat or pork so that's why we used turkey. To make it now I would have to find or create a recipe for better sauce. It was very tasty with the Manwich…

Using a body fat caliper purchased at GNC for $20. Started around 32%, about 27% now, targeting under 20% to start and probably pick a more defined target once I get there. Most every online calculator uses weigh as a measurement to calculate and weight can fluctuate 5 pounds on any given day. Caliper measurement doesn't…

Go to a reputable shop. Only tattoo in areas that will be covered in business attire. My son got his on his hand and can't find a descent paying job anyplace.

I buy Applegate Naturals turkey bacon. Ingredients: turkey, water, less than 2% of sea salt, celery powder, maple sugar, onion powder, spices. That's it. No casein, no gluten, no antibiotics, no animal byproducts, no nitrites, no nitrates. Made from whole thigh meat and retains the meat texture. NOT pulverized into…
