I'm 5ft1 and started at 173lbs last June. Currently at about 140lbs, hoping to get to about 120lbs :)

You look awesome. Your bum is AMAZING. So jealous... I have a pancake bum :(

I'm in! This is my first challenge so gonna make it a good 'un :) Starting Weight – 141 lbs Goal Weight Loss – 5.6 lbs

I'm in! Also my first challenge :)

Get your hot *kitten* to a Body Pump class!! :) You'll learn loads of great moves, get advice on weight and shape up in no time. Plus then you can replicate all the moves when you're in the gym :)

Creme de la Mer is really expensive but it's pretty much a miracle in a pot. It makes my skin look amazing.

You look great, well done. I found it hard to lose weight as a teenager, even when I wanted to, because people kept telling me I was "too young" to be on a diet, or that it was "unhealthy"! You're doing great.
-
Oh they're there now! You look amazing! Are you quite tall? I started roundabout where you did and I'm at 144lbs at the moment but you look WAY thinner than I do! I'm only 5ft1 though.

It says the pics have been deleted?

Planks! Front ones and side ones :)

Yeah I figured 5lbs of muscle - or fat - in a week was INSANE. This is probably a dumb question but is there anything I can do about water retention?! Or do I just have to wait for it to go away? I thought after nearly a week I'd have least seen it change about a bit.

I tried changing the battery in my scales, and then tried different scales! Surely if it was water etc it would have sorted itself out by now...
-
This happened to me, I hit a plateau for 4-6 weeks, and was eating perfectly and going to the gym. I fell off the wagon a bit because I went on holiday and then had a relaxed week or two when I came home. When I finally climbed back on the scales, I was worried I'd have put weight on. I hadn't, I'd stayed the same - and as…

I'll have this, please!!

I've stumbled and been fired off the back of a treadmill where I landed in an ungainly heap. Now THAT is embarassing!

I wasn't on Zoloft, but was on Citalopram for about 18 months, which I believe is similar? My dose was increased several times and each time I had side effects (mainly a tight jaw and crazy insomnia) for about 2 or 3 weeks each time. They did go away eventually though. I don't think it made me gain weight but I'm fairly…

I read somewhere that you burn something like 20% more calories when you exercise whilst it's TOM, not sure if it's true but the thought usually keeps me motivated!!

I just read this on another thread; "MFP has a safety check in doing the math for goal calories, no matter what your maintenance calories are, if your desired weight loss requires your goal calories to go under 1200, it will not, for generally accepted safety reasons. But, by the same token, it misses an equally bad safety…

I was just wondering this too. I'm guessing because, if you don't do any exercise at all, to lose weight you'd just have to eat a little bit less every day? Which is probably why we're meant to eat back our exercise calories or we end up wayyyyyy calorie deficit.

Buy a HRM and find out?

I'm a freelance photographer/designer. NO I will not photograph your wedding for free, or do you some portraits of your kids, or make you a poster for something, or "knock you up a quick website". It's how I make a living, duh.

Have you been monitoring your body fat? In the summer, when I started doing this seriously, I lost about a stone, stone and a half maybe, and then everything COMPLETELY STOPPED for a month or two. I was eating meticulously and exercising 5 or 6 times a week and was feeling so disheartened. I tried the machine at the gym…

I try and do gentle exercise in between the weight training days but sometimes I feel like I'm copping out, haha. I guess I was just wondering if there was any reason TO actually take a rest day in between, do my muscles need to recover? Not looking for an excuse or anything, just sometimes I push on and I wonder if a rest…

I went for it :D I did loosen off a bit and I managed to get through it, although was definitely feeling the burn a lot quicker than I usually do! Suffering now though :( 10000x more stiff!

I'm 5"1 too, I'm quite chunky all over and I'm aiming for 120lbs. I might want to go to 115lbs or so, but I'm sticking to my current goal in the meantime to keep me motivated :) It just depends what you're happy with. I was 120lbs a few years ago and so I know that weight suits me and makes me feel good. But everyone is…

I'm 24 and find the idea of you 'punishing' him really weird! He's an adult and he makes his own choices. If he's old enough to drive, and he pays his own insurance etc, then he's old enough to live with the consequences. He didn't do anything THAT bad. Let's face it, most of go a little over the speed limit every now and…

There has been some recent research that the artificial sweeteners in diet drinks do something to the insulin in your body, and in turn your body finds it harder to burn fat. I can't find the exact article, but I'd googled something like "diet coke and weight loss". I used to drink a lot of diet coke, thinking it wasn't…

I often use cous cous instead of rice :) You can also cook brown rice in some chicken stock, or some spices, to add a bit of flavour :)

Doctors are awful! I started rapidly gaining weight last year for no apparent reason. Joined the gym and went for an hour every day, for six weeks. That managed to maintain my weight but I couldn't lose any. I kept going to the doctors every few months and I kept saying something wasn't right and they kept talking to me…

I've also been wondering about doing less than the recommended length. I have about a stone, maybe just over, to lose. I've bought some drops but I wouldnt like to go the 21 days or whatever it is incase it took me TOO low. Wondering if I could do it for 10 days or so to give myself a bit of a boost in the weight loss…
