You're almost there! Even with the right Dr and meds it will need to be changed and tweaked at first. What diet are you on?

There's another group on here called butterfly chasers. It's specifically for hashimotos. I'll be 27 next month. I'd had undiagnosed Hashimotos since before I was 15, until 2 months ago. 1. Go to an endocrinologist. 2. If you're on t4 and the meds work, then don't work, then you get a higher dose and it works, then doesn't…

All the research I've done agree that people with hypo tend to have a gluten and soy intolerance. Maybe try cutting back on gluten and carbs.

Very much so.l

Thank you so much! It's very reassuring to hear that I'm not stuck like this, and now know what to look forward to.

Lol I've left my phone and keys in the fridge!

Don't feel bad. I don't have a diploma or GED either. My psychotic mom pulled me out of school to homeschool me the last 2 years of Hs. One day I might get my ged...

Does your insurance cover it, and does it work as well as the Armour?

How do you manage to do all that! ???? Is it because your thyroid is in check? I wake up, TRY to get out of bed. If I can barely walk I pee and get right back in bed. If I can walk I make breakfast for everyone if they haven't eaten, and try to catch up on dishes, laundry, picking up toys... after a bit I get into a very…

Have you thought of starting a FB group? It could be a parallel to this group. I know that I forget to check in on the groups on here, because when I do check in every day, it's usually been dead.

You and I both! I've actually thought about calling each of them and scolding them about being suck idiots. I've already fired the Dr that was prescribing my meds. I absolutely love my obgyn! I'm actually going to send him a thank you card and Christmas present. He's the one that discovered my thyroid levels were bad. I…

I have all the symptoms of PCOS, but I had already self diagnosed and was taking herbs for it. So, when I went for the blood test everything but my thyroid came back normal. The heating pad is a great idea! I usually take numerous hot baths throughout the day, and I have a can of biofreeze for my back. I have 2 kids and 2…

I've been trying to read. It's just so exhausting, and most of what I found is so wordy. I need something that cuts straight to the point. I did check out that website. I had to put in a complaint about the Dr I was seeing, and am seeing a different Dr in the practice in a few weeks. I'm going to ask him to put me on the…

There's free plans you can find online.

Yes this! ^ The person I buy fresh eggs and raw milk from is a wellness coach and said the same thing to me.

I went through the same thing. I had problems with being lethargic, and tired for over 10 years. Then 6 years ago the weight started creeping on and I started battling chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia like symptoms, with a 20 lb weight gain over a 2month period. I was finally diagnosed with hypothyroidism 2 months ago.…

Are the T4/T3 replacements prescriptions? I'm wondering about cost...

Hi! I've had problems since I was about 16. I was finally officially diagnosed with hypothyroidism, and PCOS. I started taking levothyroxine, and yaz exactly 3 weeks ago. In the 2 months previous to this I had gained almost 20lbs... Since starting the meds I have done nothing different and have already lost 6lbs! I'm…

We eat no meat on more days than just Monday, but there's a few reasons to do it. 1) I can buy more food when I buy less meat. I bought 2x as much meat last week and wasn't able to buy as much of other foods. (fresh, canned, & frozen produce, pastas, etc.) But then again I buy everything organic. 2) If you eat conventional…

Ok. Thanks. I'm going to start taking it like that tomorrow. I can't remember the number. My biggest complaint for 10years has been the horrible lethargy. I noticed a slight difference the first day! I think part of the reason she has me going up slowly is because if the lethargy was completely gone all at once it would be…

Thanks for the advice. I do appreciate it, but it's not that simple. I normally need to make myself eat. I don't get very hungry, and sometimes needed to force myself to eat 1200 calories. My husband and I could not understand how I gained so much weight over the last 3 years. I was finally diagnosed with hypothyroidism,…

Wow! Hold on a moment! I thought this thread was great until you said that... I religiously dieted for 2 yrs and yo-yoed over 15lbs. People close to me thought that I maybe was a closet eater, and I was starting to think they were right. Surprise, surprise! I was finally diagnosed with hypothyroidism, AND PCOS!…

Ok... Apparently mine is "extremely underactive". I'm going back in to check my levels and up the dose in 2 months. The Dr wants to up it slowly.

I have one more question. I've been taking my levothyroxine (sp?) in the afternoon with my bcp I'm taking for Pcos. I found out I'm not supposed to be taking the 2 different hormones together. I want to switch to when I wake up. First of all, is it a problem that I don't wake up at the same time everyday?
-
Awesome! Thanks! It's something to start with. I'm going to do more fats, less carbs, because apparently carbs and gluten are bad for my PCOS (didn't know I had that either).
-
Really? MFP has me set at 1320cals/day to lose 2lbs a week. I have it set at that, and try to keep between that and 1800 calories. I always had a hard time eating more than 1200 calories unless I've had junk food. Even eating at such a large deficit the weight wouldn't come off. I guess I will need to adjust my calorie…

Lol. Mmm animal fries! Tomorrow will work out better. It's just the In N Out that screwed me over.. Even after the burger and fries I think I did great as far as macros go. Isnt there a way to customize macros?

I had some turkey earlier. I had an avacado just now... *Dang it! And the avacado put me over 2,000 calories! I'm going to make some chamomile tea... Hopefully it helps take the edge off.

You look amazing! (and hot!)

I like that... "knowledge shaming". That should be an official term here on MFP.
