Feel free to add me :)

Thank you all. I think you told me what I need to know. I'm not going to focus on losing weight for next months. I'm going to focus on correct fuelling and healthy choices completing this marathon in under 5hrs! And then think about it :)
-
Thanks for the advice. I'll have a look into strong lifts. I might talk to trainer about starting program now, because legs are working very hard currently and I don't want to cause injury! 7 weeks until big day!!
-
Definitely not me! Thanks for the advice so far, I will try some of these ideas. I have been drinking plenty of water and I think I need to avoid the sugary options of snacks!!

I'm 5'1" and weigh 148lbs. Yes using MFP guidelines, not sure what else to look at. Have set my activity to lightly active as I am a teacher so on my feet most of the day. I think thats it, during this 2 weeks I need to distract myself when I get hungry!

To lose 1lb a week, calorie allowance is 1350 - there was no way I could stick to 1200 if I wanted to lose 2lb!! Yes I am eating back exercise calories. I think I need some ideas of low calorie filling foods or I need to reduce portion size because I seem to want more and eat too much!! The exercise has made me hungry too.

Keep going, your body might just be adjusting to your change in diet. Drink plenty of water and make sure you log everything (no secret snacks!) I need to take some of my own advice...I am not finding it easy either :(

Maybe I should invest in a hrm instead. That sounds similar to my running speed.
-
I'm building up my running slowly. I don't want to do too much too soon - I am running Brighton marathon in April, runs will get longer and hopefully faster! ;)
-
I normally put a lower number than machines at gym...maybe I need to invest in a fitbit?

Thanks. I have a garmin, but without chest strap, and it tells me about 340calories for a 5km run (based on weight/height/speed). I did 20 mins hill work on treadmill today and 15mins on cross trainer along with some weight machine work. That totalled about 350 calories according to MFP although I didn't include strength?!…

I'm 5'1" and I need to lose about 30lbs. I weight 149lb at the moment. Help me!
-
Thanks! I just found out the gingerbread biscuits I made yesterday are 309 calories each
-
Wooo I got lucky last night! ;)
-
I'm in England. Thanks for the suggestions, some sound very yummy. Keep them coming!
-
I'm in! Do you realise its on youtube?

There are so many. I use runlounge, they send you the plan every week so its a surprise!! ;) You can train for a marathon on 4 runs a week. I did my spring one in just over 5 hrs.. training consisted of 1xhill run, 1xthreshold, 1xrun of choice and 1xlong run (upping the milage and time on feet). It took over my Sunday…

Thank you all so much. I have just started weighing food today and will log everything... No cheating. The hard part is going to be starting new job next week where they provide lunch, I know they have salad bar but, so maybe I'll just do salads for lunch and then cook as normal in the evening so I know what I'm eating?

Not sure what this is....but why not! Sign me up :)

I suffer similar issues. I am going to try the 30day foundation challenge from the foundationtraining website mentioned above :) Fingers crossed it works!
-
Thanks very much for the advice, I think I'll get dumbells to start and maybe move onto kettlebell once I've increased strength :)
-
Thank you. I've drunk more water and eaten some fibre and seem much better today.
-
What weights are you all planning to use? I need to buy some and am not sure!
-
What size weights do you use? Just going shopping for some and I have no idea which to get!!
-
I'm not sure i like yoga, never given it a good shot, but need to improve flexibility, so will give it a go. I may need to modify to 30mins a day though, and work up to an hour :)
-
I do a bootcamp class and I love it! Everybody is really friendly and encouraging. I work so much harder at these than on my own. Try it, they can be good :)
-
Thanks for the advice. I'm going to have to work out my budget and take a look :)
-
I am, thank you. I may take a visit to Argos :)
-
Am on this! Hope this firms up some flab ;) I don't blame you taking a day if thighs are burning... Extra push ups instead?! ;)

Thanks :) so from what I gather, my TDEE is 1941 so I should aim to eat 1550 and not eat back exercise because these were included in the TDEE calculation (1-3 times a week)?
