1. Yes, the lifespan of paleolithic people was much shorter than it is today. They had to contend with diseases/complications that are now easily prevented by modern medicine (like an infection). However, due to their diet and active lifestyle, they probably wouldn't have ever developed obesity-related diseases that many…

There are two components of vitamin A: Carotenoids, which come from plant sources (various vegetables and fruits) and retinol, which comes from animal sources (eggs, liver, dairy, etc.) Excess carotenoids are removed from your body, so don't worry about going way over on vitamin A if it's pretty much all from plant…

I always eat ice-cream/frozen yogurt with peanut butter. Might sound weird, but the texture combo is amazing.

How many calories did you eat today? If you ate a good amount, that seems like waaay too high an estimate for your burn. You might be overestimating. Just a thought.

I lost 40 lbs and 3 dress sizes, so about 13 lbs per size.

Depends on your weight and what stroke you're doing

That's nonsense, swimming is a great workout that burns a lot of calories. Pairing it with some sort of strength training would be even better. Are you able to lift weights at all? If standing would be a problem, there's plenty you can do while sitting or lying on a bench.
-
First of all, what deficit (lbs/week) did you set it to? Second, perhaps you're overestimating your energy expenditure? Some of MFP's calories burned estimates aren't exactly accurate. Also, sometimes people accidentally account for exercise twice (they'll set their activity level to active but also log exercise…

Why not just take Dayquil/Nyquil pills? I'm pretty sure those are calorie free, unlike the syrup.
-
That's true, it's hard to be sure whether calories burned estimates are accurate. You can always compare MFP's estimates with those from other sources to see if they match up.

*Edit because I made a mistake, lol Your fat percentage is around 20% (if I calculated that right this time), which is okay, but you can increase it to something like 30% if you'd prefer. Maybe try it and see how you feel?

If your MFP goal is 1320, you should net 1320. If you burn 300 calories, eat 1620. If you burn 800, try to eat closer to 2120. It's not always doable (I know it's hard for me to eat back all those exercise calories when I burn a lot) but try to adjust them as best you can to net at least 1200 (but preferably 1320).
-
That's what I did. I set my activity level to sedentary because I don't work out everyday. On days that I do work out, I log it. I personally like it because my exercise schedule is so irregular and it feels much more accurate.
-
If your goal is 1200, you should be NETTING at 1200. If you don't exercise at all, eat 1200 calories. If you burn 400 calories with exercise, then eat 1600. If you burn 200, eat 1400. It should always balance out to about 1200.
-
Makes sense to me. Your BMR is almost 1700. If you weren't active, your TDEE would be around 2000. So, given that you ARE active and burn around 500 calories each day from exercise, altogether you'd expend about 2500 calories. So, eating 1500 calories each day should create a large enough deficit to lose about 2 lbs each…

Cutting back is best, but you can still drink - just go with lower calorie options. The drinks in your diary are really high-cal not only because of the alcohol, but all the sugary stuff they're mixed with. Go for simple drinks like wine, light beer, or just alcohol + diet soda. For instance, having something like rum +…

From Texas, but living in Kentucky now. Breakfast: Coffee (with stevia and creamer) and a mix of cereal, plain Greek yogurt, and berries (topped with cinnamon and honey). I live in Kentucky. Being overweight is the norm.

I looked up movie theater popcorn and even the largest size is around 800 calories. You have to go 3500 calories over your TDEE to gain a pound. Nothing to worry about. Just do a normal workout, you'll be fine.
