  • Good for you! I was 270 lbs when I started last March. I've lost 69 lbs. so far. I'd like to lose another 30-40. I know it seems like a long journey, but I just took it one day at a time and some days, one meal at a time. I've found that exercise is the key for me. I have to do it 5-6 days a week. That just seems like the…
  • To me, it's still the best tasting in a taco salad. I eat mixed baby greens/spinach/butter lettuce otherwise. [/quote] Me too. What is it about iceburg in a taco salad? Yummy. :)
  • What kind did you get? I get the unsweetened vanilla or chocolate almond milk by Almond Breeze and add Stevia to it. I actually like it. I use it for my protein shakes and even with a shaker, it doesn't seem to mix all the way. I don't mind it though. It's definitely an aquired taste. :)
  • I had one 4 days ago. It is VERY painful. The first 2 days were the worst. Recovery wise, I'm feeling much better today. I had my pain pump and 1 drain removed yesterday, which made a huge difference. I also was able to shower this morning and that made me feel a lot better, too. I have an 8 year old and a 2 year old, so I…
  • Had my TT yesterday. I didn't think it would be as bad as it is. VERY sore. Came home this evening from the hospital. I saw my tummy this afternoon when the surgeon came to check me. You're right - it's like looking at someone else's body. I know I'll be happy in a few weeks when I'm feeling better. Hope you're feeling…
  • Hi! I'm awake because I'm having a tummy tuck in a few hours (7:30 a.m.) and I'm so nervous, I can't sleep. My Dr. is giving me a pain pump for the first 4 days. I'm hoping that it helps. He says I'll be completely numb. I'll definitely be getting on here to see how your recovery is going and if you have any other good…
  • Thanks! I'm doing the Paleo diet. Basically protein and veggies. I eat eggs, chicken breast, lots of fish, almonds, almond butter, unsweetened almond milk, extra lean ground beef and lots of vegetables. No fruit, dairy, grains, or sugar. I do occasionally have some 85% dark chocolate. My food diary is public. It seems a…
  • Thank you everyone! I just know what it's like when you have a lot of weight to lose and you feel like it will never happen. I hope to be able to show others that they CAN do it. If I can do it, anyone can - I'm a food addict. I just had to get to the point that I wanted it bad enough.
  • Wow, how inspiring. I have at least 50 more to go. Thanks for posting this. I'm looking forward to the day when I can do the same. :)
  • YES! I read your story this morning on AOL! Very inspiring. Thanks for being willing to share. :)
  • For me personally, it took about 2 weeks. Drinking water helped me. I am currently doing low carb, so I rarely get hungry, since I eat mostly protein.
  • Steve knows his stuff. I've been eating that way for 2 months and the weight is just falling off. 53 lbs. in 13 weeks.
  • Hi! I am also trying to eat clean. I have 2 children, so I find that cooking large amounts of lean meat and having it on hand is a great time saver. I eat as organic as possible and buy as much fresh produce as possible. I usually cook a whole package of organic chicken tenderloins, (I find they cook faster and are usually…
  • I'm concerned about that as well. I was overweight with both of my pregnancies, so my stomach skin has NO elasticity left. I'm currently looking into surgery. I just don't see how exercise (I do both cardio and strength) will take away loose skin.
  • I weigh and measure EVERYTHING and enter it seperately. Yeah, I have OCD. :)
  • Wow - congrats! I started Primal Blueprint a month ago. I LOVE it! I've lost 20 lbs since I started it. It makes eating so much easier, at least for me. :)
  • There's nothing like fresh ground peanut butter! I get it from the deli in my grocery store (Publix). I'm going to Whole Foods tomorrow to get fresh ground almond butter. Almonds are better for you.
  • I started strength training 6 weeks ago and hired a trainer. He has me doing as much weight as I can comfortably handle and 4 sets of 15 reps, with 30-60 second breaks in between sets. He increased the weight last week. It must be working, because I'm so sore! :) Hope this helps.
  • I'm responding to this assuming it was meant for me - don't want to come across as a know-it-all, because I don't! LOL I understand about the time issue. There are a lot of nights that I'm on the treadmill at the gym at 9:00 p.m., after my kids and hubby are in bed. Organic isn't as important as just eating healthy.…
  • I've lost 39 lbs. in the past 10 weeks. I workout every day doing 35 minutes of cardio (I do intervals on the treadmill) and do strength training every other day.I did join the gym and hired a personal trainer to make sure I'm getting the most out of my workouts. Food wise, I cut out sugar, dairy and grains. I eat organic…
  • Hi! I also joined MFP after doing WW. I was doing the online program and decided to try this site to save some money. I did both for a week and I actually like MFP better. I was also a sweet junky - I had sweets after every meal most days (or as a meal LOL). I haven't had sugar now for almost 10 weeks. It definitely takes…
  • Thanks, good to know. I'm trying to eat clean, and was wondering about Stevia. I got the Stevia in the raw - it just sounds more natural. :)
  • I'm reading Primal Blueprint right now. From what I understand, Paleo allows you to have low sugar fruits (berries and such). I try not to eat fruit after lunch. It allows you between 50-100 grams of carbs a day, but from fruit and veggies, no dairy (limited cheese, although I don't eat it) and no grains (wheat, corn,…
  • Thanks so much! These things cost so much, I didn't want to take a chance and buy one without other opinions. For the price, I think I'm going to go with the FT40. Mother's Day is coming!
  • I love my Wii Zumba! My 2 year old son begs me to put it on - he loves it, too! :)
  • WOW! What an inspiration! I have at least 75 more lbs. to lose, and have been very overwhelmed with the road ahead of me. Thanks for posting this - I know if I keep working hard, I'll see the light at the end of the tunnel, too!
  • I agree! You worked hard to lose those 20 lbs! Just hold 4 sticks of butter in your hand - that's 1 pound!!!! Congrats! :)
  • I just switched 2 weeks ago to MFP from WW online. I did both for a week just to compare. I like the fact that MFP breaks everything down, like sodium, carbs, etc. I decided to go with MFP mainly because it's free, but also because I felt it made me more accountable for my overall nutrition. I lost 13 lbs doing WW for 3…
  • I had to buy a package of panties 2 sizes smaller last week - it's not weird - it's awesome! :) Good for you!
  • I used to tell my clients (I'm retired now) when they were moving that if they see someone with a nice haircut, ask where they get their hair done. That's usually pretty safe.
