I really need one, I want it to be about shoulder length, maybe a bit shorter. I'm afraid it will just make me look more round though. Any ideas?

Go longer than you want to start. Easy to get more taken off - really hard to have it put back on. For the 20 dollars or so to get it cut, live with it for a week or two then go shorter if you still want

I'm ready to do the same thing. Maybe long layers? Nothing too choppy?

I have a round face and I have had short hair all my life. I think the longer my hair is the rounder I look

Make sure you won't miss your long hair!

I cut a lot of mine off in the summer, and I said to myself "Oh I won't miss my hair, I want a massive change". I was wrong.

I'm trying to grow it out now and it's long and painful since my hair grows so slowly!

I've been a hairstylist for 22 years. I have a round face and I find that as long as I keep length between my chin and collar bone, it compliments my face shape. I wouldn't go any shorter than shoulder length. Angled layers around your face will help, too. Just make sure they aren't cut too short, if you like to wear your hair up sometimes.

i have mine up to the bottom of my neck its a bob but its an angled bob
  • I won't miss the length, I usually keep it around shoulder length, but have been so busy haven't had the time to get it cut. My plan is above the shouler with lots of layers and swoopy bangs..

Sounds good! The only thing to remember with lots of layers is that they look best when blown out with a round brush.

Sure! I'm in South Florida though, so it might take me a while to get there! LOL

I wish I could figure that one out - I'd be a millionaire! You could always just do bangs and angled in the front with a few layers in the back. You'd still get the same face framing shape without all the work of layers all over.

Do you have a good stylist that you trust? If so, then just go for it. I did and I love mine :) I went from about shoulder length to chin length - terrified every second - but at the same time, I knew he wouldn't take me any shorter than he thought I should go.

Your haircut is SUPER cute! :)
  • I do have a trusty hairstylist, my cousin...but I've moved out of state so now I have to find someone else.
  • I really want to do it today, but I'm kind of short on $$$.

I used to tell my clients (I'm retired now) when they were moving that if they see someone with a nice haircut, ask where they get their hair done. That's usually pretty safe.

I cut my own, as you can tell I never worry if the length is correct.
