no, i am not arguing. i was told to recheck logging months ago. I drilled down into more specific foods, gave up some trickier 'measurable' foods just to see if that might be the issue. no change. I agree that many people - including me- are guilty of inaccurate logging. but if someone says 'i am certain of the numbers',…

mine? no, i was trying to be lighthearted. I count calories, i am clearly at or around 1200 and i don't lose. And i log my food, that is what this site is FOR. i will weigh my protein bars, but i can't be far off. Let's say i was at 1300-1400, MFP as a rule would tell me i shouldn't have to cut way below that. I don't WANT…

what if it crashes into a wall? i think mine rolled down a grassy knoll.

and starvation mode from a scientific standpoint (in studies with live subjects and defined as the point where metabolism stops burning fat stores and holds onto them) is 750 calories for most people. And even then, over time, weight will start to be shed again.
-
let's say i was eating 1400 calories because i had more broccoli than i thought, according to MFP and my own TDEE, i should still be losing and i don't. and as for logging, i switched to 'packaged' foods just to narrow in on calories (so i haven't eaten vegetables of any volume for a while). the veggie meat, the protein…

"Based on your total calories consumed for today, you are eating too few calories." I got down to this because i didn't lose weight- again, let me emphasize AT ALL- at higher levels. I didn't go from 2000 down to 1200; i went 1800 to 1600 to 1500 to 1400 over YEARS. i gave up diet soda 10 yrs ago, then i gave up almost all…

and the only answer is cut more calories? I mean, that is what logic tells me. But i will be under 1,000 at that point: the great bogeyman of VLCD. ( i do log calories, i eat the same thing almost everyday, i work out only about 4 times a week, 45 mins, elliptical). i drink a ton of water, low carb, protein bars and…

i have tried losing weight at different calorie thresholds (1650, 1500, 1450) and NEVER lose. when i got down to 1200, people seize on that number and say 'you are in starvation mode'. what other- non thyroid, non PCOS- reasons are there that someone would cut calories and not lose. Not not lose slowly, NOT lose?
-
i have entries in my diary. just not in the last 2 weeks but it is simple to track my eating by what i had before; i eat the same things everyday.

it may be that exercise is more critical for you than for others. it could be that the calories you eat- as low as they are- are the 'maintain' amount for you. I say this as someone who, like you, has a weight that doesn't deviate from within a 3 pound span despite doing massive changes to my diet over the years. I HAVE…

To clarify, she was a registered dietitian and a nutritionist. My doctor had no referrals after i told her i went to this person and got no help.

i do not understand how someone eating 1200 or thereabouts would go into starvation mode. i feel this term is just a grab bag that those w weird metabolisms get tossed into. Someone says 'i did all the right things to lose and everyone says i should be but i am not' becomes STARVATION MODE. but then why have i never met a…

I eat two tablespoons if I put in two tablespoons and I don't put them on anything

I don't eat 800 cals a day! I am about 1200-1300

i have no indicators of PCOS but do have them for insulin resistance and as i said in my original post, i DID lose weight when i did all protein shakes which i believe had more to do with a super high protein diet than calories per se. there is just some instinctual feeling i have always had that carbs were doing me no…

i see an Ozeri digital scale on Amazon- is that fine? and then i need a book to reference with calorie counts? (see, this is why i eat as little as possible, food is so un-fun). i just want a tube of goo like an astronaut

hi, me again. all the keto talk, head spinning. I even tried THAT for a while. you can't believe how hard it is for a human to avoid carbs completely but anyway...... ravenstar- went to doc, completely normal blood panel, no thyroid issue, low Vit D but typical for most adults Ereck - I don't take any medications, I have…

i agree but it is interesting that years ago when i was a bulimic consuming thousands of calories and a diet of ice cream and chips, what we all deem as manufactured evil, i weighed the same- and i do mean The Same- as i do now eating a completely regulated plant based diet of under 1300-1400 calories. the ONLY thing i…

I was merely trying to get anecdotal stories from people in my position. If the bottom line is i am not creating a deficit, then i will eat less. everybody i encounter in other chat rooms keeps crowing about starvation mode and, as a woman, if you don't eat a lot, people start picking on you about that (while they…

because MFP isn't my main stop for weight loss. i logged my calories on a spreadsheet of my own. i eat the same things all the time. It is unnecessary to log daily for the most part. I just inserted that one day because everyone asked for an example of what i was eating.

i am vegetarian for ethical reasons and am trying to transition to vegan for same. i merely brought it up to flesh out the picture, not because i know it guarantees weight loss (although if you follow it strictly, there are SO many foods you can't eat that you prob will be thin). Sorry if i muddied the water in bringing it…

i know - vegan fail. i eat the same things everyday. i eat veggie sausage (or links or bacon) for breakfast and dinner). I eat an english muffin for breakfast as well (shoot, i put jam on there, i need to amend my diary!). I eat a protein bar at 9am, i eat a sweet potato (or an artichoke) at noon and a cup and a half of…

thank you for all this. i should not have written all The Words, i was trying to anticipate the questions i am typically asked ('do you COUNT calories?' 'do you exercise?' 'do you eat a lot of protein?'). I do log my food, i try for 40 protein/30 fat/30 carb because i think i am insulin resistant, i have cut calories 100…

i am a vegan fail, clearly. i am trying to switch to all plants but am concerned about getting enough protein

welp, it had been a month and Dietylproprion did nothing. i weigh exactly the same so i am taking Qsymia starting today. My doc said Belviq has an appetite suppressant and i don't need that. my work is getting busier so i am not finding time to eat much anyway. I don't know that this will help and i dread the side effects…
-
Are Belviq and Qsymia appetite suppressants? so they wouldn't be recommended if you had no problem eating managed portions/ counting calories? i don't have issues with food anymore- i just don't lose. i essentially need a metabolism boost without weight lifting 2 hours a day.

YOU were the person i was looking for because this is all me. How long have you been on it? Is it low dose and are you seeing any results?

everyone IS entitled to an opinion but if YOU asked (on a travel site) 'who here has been to Italy, tell me your experiences' and 20 people said 'it doesn't sound very fun' and 'a friend of a friend of my cousin told me it was just meh' and one person said 'i have been there, let me tell you what to do and where to stay',…
-
and i'm with you. i found this thread by googling Belviq to try to find opinions and experiences by its users. I don't really find it helpful to hear people say 'doesn't sound like a good idea.'

I just started on the diethylpropion on April 25th. I am not weighing myself until a month has gone by. (i am also DHEA and Vitamin D3 per recommendation by my Doc). I see these diet pills as having two uses: one, to jump start someone who may feel defeated or hopeless because they have yo-yo dieted in the past or have…
