  • Today starts Recovery Week. I haven't even looked at the schedule, but I think it's Core Syn. I've heard good things about it, so I'm looking forward to it. Also excited to have a whole week of cardio! And I am proud to say that I did the WHOLE yoga dvd yesterday. Finally! Wasn't as boring as I thought, but it really…

Apr 25: 145 (goal) Looks like I should be able to hit my mini-goal if I keep it up this week. It's my recovery week for P90X so…
  • Morning everyone! Subbed Kenpo for Yoga yesterday, and actually subbed Tae Bo for Kenpo. Didn't burn as much as I thought I would. Might go back to Kenpo next week instead. Although, the specific tape I did (Advanced #3) has a KILLER booty section that hurts so much I love doing it. Pretty easy to mimic on my own though.…
  • Emma- nice job on the progress! Grasshopper - my booty was so sore after the last Legs workout. It's a great feeling when I think about my jeans fitting again! johnson - i LOVE triceps. I look at mine in the mirror at home (well, what little of them there are) Gotta love the glamour muscles! MAK - I'm not a veteran, but I…
  • Chest & Back plus ARX done for the day. I have been focusing in increasing my number of reg pushups before hitting the knee, but they aren't deep. So I think next Phase I'm going to try to do as many deep as possible instead. My diamond pushups are only like halfway down - man those are hard!
  • If my husband was in town we would probably be at the brewpub with lots of beer (and I would exercise like crazy to even it out!), but luckily (?) he is out of town so I don't have to bother. The bagpipes annoy me anyway. Instead I am going to watch a chick flick or help our concert band record some songs. And get a good…
  • Welcome! And congrats on the no smoking thing. All the exercise will help you feel better.
  • Did Plyo today. Good burn, but some of the bending down squats hurt my back (already tweaked). So even though my plans tonight were cancelled due to heavy snow, I don't think I will push for more cardio. Oh well. Always tomorrow. Although riding my recumbent bike sounds tempting... gotta go!
  • Lettuce mix Cubed butternut squash baked in chinese five spice powder Raisins Almond slices Chicken optional Goes best with a vinagrette And I got it out of my husband's Men's Health magazine (they were giving healthy suggestions to impress a dinner date):flowerforyou:
  • I take my camera hiking so I wanted small, but big zoom for the wildlife. Got a Canon SX210 and love it! I also have a much older Canon Powershot S3IS with a telezoom attachment. Basically, I love Canon. Have had other brands and not been impressed, but that is just me probably and the fact that they were cheap entry…
  • I haven't lost much either (about 1 lb), but I'm also within 10 lbs of my goal weight so it will take longer. I am curious to see what happens during recovery next week though!

Apr 25: 145 (goal) The scale is all over the place ever since I started P90X a few weeks ago. Hasn't gone up much, but isn't dropping much…
  • Well, I don't think I have the energy for Chest & Back today. My physical therapy session was intense! I burned 400 cals in one hour doing a lot of sprints, agility and hamstring work. And since I assume my legs will be tired tomorrow for Plyo I'm just going to push everything back a day. I will do Kenpo on Yoga day…
  • Keep it up! After I tore my ACL I postponed surgery for 3 months and did a lot of physical therapy to get my leg strength back first. Today was my 4.5 month post-op and the doctor said I'm doing better than 90% of most people at this stage. It does make a difference!
  • So true. Week 1 I was only doing 5 reg pushups and the rest on my knees. Week 2 was 10 reg and the rest on knee. This week, who knows? But I'm going to shoot for at least 12 reg first.
  • Has it really been 2 weeks already?! I was pooped after Chest and Back/ Ab Ripper yesterday, so I put off Legs and Back until today. Of course, then I was too pooped to also do much Tae Bo. So I still need to figure out if it is better than Kenpo. Tomorrow I may actually attempt Yoga, but who am I kidding - I say that…
  • Yesterday I took a break. Too exhausted and busy. But I had also been working out hard since Sunday. Today I'm going to do Legs and Back, Ab Ripper, and throw in the Chest exercises I skipped on Monday. No sense in doubling the pullups. Should be a good afternoon. Tomorrow I'm subbing TaeBo for Kenpo to see what my burn is…
  • Serengeti area of TZ? Ngorogoro was my favorite. Amazing. Which beach on Zanzibar? North or East I'm guessing? Stone Town is a cool town. Like the vibe.
  • That is beautiful. And much safer than Devils Pool. http://www.snopes.com/photos/natural/devilspool.asp#photo2
  • Is that the one near Livingstone Island where you have to walk across the top during the dry season? Last October was the driest I have ever seen the Falls in my 5 visits.
  • Favorite trip?? That is a really tough one. I added it up and I've been to 17 different countries.... But right now I would have to say my trip back to Africa last year. I lived there for over 3 yrs but I hadn't been since 2002. Originally I was supposed to climb Mt Kilimanjaro until I tore my ACL, so our first week plans…
  • Are chickens your hobby, or a living? Sounds interesting. I have been changing up my routine due to scheduling and soreness. As long as you round it out and push play 6 days a week I think you are doing great. You have to listen to your body. I gave my arms another rest day and had an amazing Plyo day instead!
  • I'm really digging the Plyometrics. I was afraid my knee wouldn't like it, but it hasn't been a problem as long as I have my brace on and I modify some of the jumps. The funny thing is that all the exercises in Legs are things I have been doing at physical therapy for several months now, so I actually find it easy. There…
  • I found this site due to high cholesterol. It had been normal, and when checked 2 yrs later it had gone up quite a bit. It was due to my lack of exercise, weight gain and bad eating/drinking habits. It took me 9 months of very hard work to lose 40 lbs. I exercised daily and definitely changed my diet. Stopped eating eggs.…

Apr 25: 140 (goal) I was in the 148 range until the weekend hit. Had a big dinner out last night and my muscles are so sore from P90X, so…
  • Got my burst of energy somehow today. Warmed up with 10 min on the elliptical. Then KenpoX. Then tried the second 30 min of YogaX but still didn't like it. So I went back to the elliptical for 15 min and then ran 1 mile. Wow, where did that come from?! The Yoga is fine. I can do it. But my HR is around 90 and I barely burn…
  • My husband and I were just talking about the serving size for boxed cereal last night. Who only eats 1 cup of cereal? A normal bowl will fit 2 servings plus milk. So you are looking at 500+ calories for one bowl of cereal and you are still hungry in 30 minutes! That's why we stopped buying it and switched to oatmeal. I,…
  • I got over zealous on Friday and overdid it with the pullups. The muscles below my armpits are so sore I thought I pulled something. I have been using IcyHot like an addict. I can barely raise my left arm. I only got 4 hrs of sleep Fri night, so I took a 3 hr nap instead of working out yesterday. It would have been…
  • Funny, that no one has said anything about Yoga yesterday! I would've tried it if I had time, but took a rest day instead. I think after standing in 48 degree water for 5 hours sexing fish (yes you read correctly and it's not a perverted thing) I earned a day off. Excited for Legs and Back today. The soreness is going away…
  • I personally chose to start on Monday because that is the day I weigh in, so I have the rest day before to let my muscles relax. Some people might not want a rest day on the weekend because that is when they get more workouts in. Personal choice I suppose. Pushing play is the most important!
