Best bits of advice I ever got - Download a Couch to 5k (C25k) or similar app - Get fitted for proper running shoes - Go slowly - the only person you are racing is yourself - Keep going :)

My wedding was my motivation for losing weight - profile pic shows a comparison of honeymoon in Hawaii and a holiday to Barcelona the year we got engaged. I managed to lose about 50lbs in the 6months before the wedding and adore looking back at my pictures - it was completely worth every single second of not giving in,…

I love to do soups and stews in my slow cooker - today I had Chicken and Chorizo Jamabalya soup (cup of rice rice, chicken (1lb), chorizo (4oz), 2 tins tomatoes, large onion, 2peppers, celery, cayenne pepper and chicken stock - done on high in a slow cooker for 2 hours made 5 servings at about 440 calories per serving) -…

I'm in - its nice to know there are others! I did degree in computing and work for a software development company. In my spare time I can generally be found somewhere on the interwebs, playing a game, reading and writing fanfiction and picking things up and putting them down again at the gym!

I'm not a noob but I wanna be adopted!

Someone from the UK who has been here every day for 2 years this week.... open to any friend requests :)

Couch to 5k app, good running shoes, slowing down and try try trying again. I went from never running, to a 2 and half hour half marathon, to a sub 2 hour half marathon in about a year. Feel free to add me if you want to talk any more about running :)

I know its been said but will chip in anyway - I used to have pain in the same area and for about 2 months I assumed it was just that I wasn't used to running etc. I had no problems with anything else (used to spin and ellipitcal no problem) and was talking to my spin instructor about it hurting when I ran. He put me on a…

Some guy on an elliptical l while wearing jeans and a duffle coat was probably the oddest one I have seen in my gym

Lol rather than being the girl who won't lift because it could make me 'bulky', I live in the free weights room at the gym and hubs won't go anywhere near it. On the rare occasion we go to the gym together he disappears off to do some cardio and I go and pick things up and we meet up at the end. We tried working out…

Feel free to add me, I'm somewhere in the 500days of logging and I log every day!

When I was trying (rather desperately!) to fit into my wedding dress I used to weigh myself every day and my mood for the day was completely dependent on what the scale said. It also used to keep me more focused on what I was doing - if the scale dropped I was more motivated to carry on and if it went up it renewed my…

I picked 140lb out of the air as a figure to aim for. Got there and decided there was definitely room for some improvement but still not sure what to! In the meantime, I was working on some fitness goals and took the advice of a trainer and started lifting alongside running. Since then, the scale has moved about 3lbs in 4…

Always happy to make new friends and I'm always on here. My embarrassing story of the week...tripping over a curb on a run on Sunday and going flying in front of two football teams in the park alongside me...

Feel free to add me - active runner/jogger starting training for a half marathon

Feel free to add me - training for a half marathon in March and then maybe a full marathon in May!

Ive been here for nearly a year and lost 48lbs - still some way to go but happy to have anyone add me if they are looking for support and motivation.

Got a half in March in Bath and planning Edinburgh in May for my first as well. Really got to planning my runs properly now!

Hi - I'm from Wales and I'm always happy to have new friends - anyone can add me. Lost about 48lbs - looking to lose another 8-10 and a lot more inches!
-
I'm just about 5'4, starting weight was in the 180s and somewhere around 138ish now. Looking to lose a bit more and get toned and fitter while I'm doing it!

I lost 40lbs to fit into my wedding dress in June of this year and I have lost another half a stone since then... I deliberately booked two running events for October and November to make sure I kept it up. Now just to keep on going!!

< < (more pictures on my profile - Havent a clue how to post them up here!)

I revised my goal, having plucked the original one arbitrarily out of the air, with no real thought or knowledge of what I would look like at that weight and set some new fitness targets to go with it!
-
I started out indoors on a treadmill doing C25k. One session outside shocked me how much harder it was so I completed the C25k indoors with the treadmill on an incline which seemed (to me anyway!) to make transitioning outside easier. Key goes in the teeny tiny pocket of my shorts/tights or in my gloves if its really cold.…

That's my goal now - bored of the scale, its all about fitness and feeling good. I love the gym - do 2-3 spin classes a week and run 5km 3 x a week as well. Just starting to do something with weights - taken up kettlebell classes and having a few sessions with a trainer to work me into it! Hard work but loving every second!
-
Oh go on then....

Hey, Jenny here, 5ft 4 and 27, lost 42lbs of the 52 I set myself to lose. Happy to have any new friends on the journey!

I started/stopped it a couple of times due to one thing or another (wedding!). First 3 days of doing it I was unbelievably sore but it did get much easier. I am planning on restarting on 1st August and going right through! Apparently tape measures are the way to go with this!
