  • On YouTube, go to John Drury dance. He was 400+ truck driver who decided it was time to do something and joined a zumba class, losing 100#. He is 6'5" tall and looks really good. He filmed several dance workouts and when he is home, leads classes in his basement for friends and family to work out.
  • You look great! My circumstances have been similar, and at 69, I decided to work harder on it. I've been struggling with LOTS of stress the past year, but it is coming to an end and I want to get myself back on track. Congratulations on your accomplishment!
  • In days gone by, she would have been referred to as voluptous and in the same league as Jane Russell, Marilyn Monroe and other stars of that era. I don't particularly care for the Kardashians, but I wouldn't classify her as fat. I should be so lucky as to be that kind of fat!
  • Congratulations on a job well done!
  • Stop with the cheesecake and ice cream pictures. You are torturing me!!!!! They look sooooo good.:brokenheart:
  • I love ice cream, especially with hot fudge on top! I generally limit myself to ice cream once a week so I don't feel completely deprived, but some days would really like to do it up BIG.
  • I can't say I hate her, but I sure don't like her. I keep thinking she'll get voted off and she just keeps getting by. She is very immature. I would like to see them do a no elimination season where they all hang in till the end.
  • Since you have been at this for a year, you may want to change your exercise routine. Our bodies are smarter than we are, so become more efficient at accepting whatever exercise we are doing. So you either have to do more or vary what you are doing so you can "outsmart" your body.
  • Some things are beyond our control. You will not be on those meds forever. Once they diagnose the problem and your rotator cuff is healed, you should be able to get back to where you want to be. I know it is extremely frustrating to reach a good point and then by smacked down by a physical ailment. I had so many people…
  • I agree with you! Having been heavy, heavier, and heaviest, I feel it would be extremely hypocritical of me to utter one word about another's weight! I know someone who has not always been normal weight, who calls other people "hippo hips" or "pork chop" and I find that extremely offensive. I'm not certain this is exactly…
  • You can make your own graham cracker crust with Splenda. Add vanilla SF pudding, plop a little SF Cool Whip on top and sprinkle with a few graham cracker crumbs.
  • I wear Asics because I have a considerable pronation problem which can lead to a lot of foot pain. My ankles turn in so that my shoes wear quickly on the inner heels. I use the Asics Duomax which is a gray color on the arch area of the sole. I don't know if it would help, but there is a Dr. Scholl's display at Wal*Mart…
  • Do they have a "healthy" thin crust pizza there? Is that all they have on their menu? I recall being there years ago, but can you eat at least 1 slice and share the rest with others? We all have to learn to balance the bad foods with the good. Maybe this is your "learning" session.
  • Congratulations on a job well done!
  • Congratulations! You have much for which to be proud and elated with your new body!
  • I find that exercise is a huge factor in controlling my osteoarthritic pain. I am on the shady side of 70. A healthy diet also makes a difference. We have to have a balance amount of protein, carbohydrates (healthy), calcium, and fats to stay healthy and still lose weight. Everything should be in moderation, even the…
  • That's great! She will so enjoy doing it her way rather than the grandma way!
  • That is the same group that tries to sabotage your efforts by insisting you try their new dessert, etc. We are better off without negativity!
  • This conversation could go any direction. She may resent your having lost weight and feel you are "flaunting" it. Then, it might be the lifeline for which she has been looking. If you can discover what it is in her life that is holding her back, it might be the key to a discussion. Is she lacking in self-confidence? You…
  • It sounds as if your friend is the one with issues. My parents were 7 years apart. My daughter is 38 and is with a guy who is 45. Her first husband was 2 years older than she and an abusive ****** who I am happy to have out of the picture. The one who is 7 years old is kind, considerate, has a great sense of humor, a good…
  • Could it be psychological from a season affected disorder? I am struggling at this time because I really dislike cold weather and it leaves me tired and lacking in enthusiasm for anything. I saw something today about eating a handful of dried tart cherries every night to help with winter blues. It is worth trying at least!…
  • While the weather was nice, I walked one hour nearly every day and dropped a whole size along with watching my food intake, of course. I know I'm going to have to start walking in the mall because riding my stationary bike doesn't seem to be doing nearly as much for me. Many times this summer, when I saw people I hadn't…
  • In these economic times, that is great news. Congratulations and I am sure your Christmas will be much merrier.
  • Yes, but I'm sure it is psychological and I am sabotaging me! The last time my weight was this low was in the mid 70's! I talk to me about the need to get down lower and the need to be healthy, but I keep fighting myself and the new low. I know what I have to do, and all I have to do is get down to it, so I have been…
  • Healthwise, breakfast is supposed to be the most important meal of the day since you are breaking your fast, hence breakfast. If it is difficult for you to eat much, why don't you make a healthy smoothie with fruit and yogurt? It doesn't have to be more than 1 cup full, but would replenish your energy to jump start your…
  • Welcome to MFP. You can accomplish miracles here!
  • They are very good, with a flavor more like fresh vegetables from the garden.
  • It is probably due to the changing musical tastes. I have enjoyed trombone, trumpet, clarinet, piano, and saxaphone music throughout the years. Suddenly, it seemed as if the most played music had either electric guitars or plain old country guitars and the louder they screeched, the better. I really enjoy music that has…
  • #1 DO NOT PURGE! It is extremely damaging to your internal organs and the digestive bile from the stomach eventually rots your teeth! Yuck! I agree that it is difficult to stay motivated, particularly over the Holidays when everyone around you seems to be over indulging in food and drink. If you can just get past all the…
  • I mix 1 can pumpkin into 2 boxes sugar free vanilla pudding, 3 cups 1% milk, and 1 tsp. pumpkin pie spice. Whip together well and chill.
