It's because they are jealous... and they are afraid of what you are thinking about what their eating! I've been doing a lot of research on clean eating and I'm trying to adapt it into my meals. It does help that most of the people at my work are really good eaters.

You're fine then. I try not to look at the bonus calories as another opportunity to eat. If I'm starving then I wont be afraid to have a snack.... if not then it will be a nice bonus next time I get on the treadmill :)
