  • In for the inspiration ;) I need some motivation too.... 9 months since having my 2nd and I weigh about 10-12 lbs. more than I did a week after having her... :-\
  • Definitely will - thanks so much, ajzmann - it's been a fun journey with you! :)
  • Well... after my 38 week apt yesterday... Monday is now officially baby day! I'm getting induced because she is no longer getting the nutrition she needs from me. Still a healthy, strong baby girl - but they want to get her out before that changes. So, I don't usually get on over the weekends - and who knows how things…
  • My doc is the same way, @ajzmann - the only reason I am getting ultrasounds now is because my belly has been measuring pretty small for how far along I am... with my first, I didn't have any ultrasounds after the anatomy scan at 20 weeks. This one, I've had two big ultrasounds (once at almost 35 weeks and another yesterday…
  • It's been so quiet over here... maybe there have been a couple of births already?? I will be 38 weeks on Thursday, and I've gained right at 20 lbs. Baby is still measuring small, so I've been advised to continue to lay on my left side in my spare time or at least 2 hours per day. Thank goodness I only have ~two weeks…
  • Yes, non-stress test. They just hook you up to monitors that watch for contractions and baby's heart rate. They want to see the heart rate spike twice in twenty minutes. I have the feeling I barely passed, but she was just being lazy. ;) I think you are right around when I was gaining the most so far... I just couldn't…
  • 36 week doc appointment yesterday was an interesting one. My last pregnancy was super smooth sailing with no issues whatsoever (with the exception of afterwards)... and this one baby is measuring small, fluid levels aren't where they should be... etc. So, I now have to do NST's twice/week and ultrasounds every week from…
  • Definitely in the homestretch... and THAT feels great!! :) Sleep over here hasn't been so great lately. My two year old is prepping us for a newborn I think and has not been sleeping through the night. We were up with him for over 2.5 hours last night and when one of us wasn't in there, he was screaming!! Ugh... not fun at…
  • Hello everyone - hope everyone is movin' right along! :) Hit 35 weeks today and had an ultrasound because I've been measuring small. Baby girl is healthy looking, but in the 14th percentile at 4 lbs. 11 oz. (approx.). So, we're going to do a follow up u/s in a couple of weeks to see if she's improved at all... and I'm…
  • Major struggle... mostly with sweets. :-\ That seems to be all I want most of the time. I just try to snack here and there and not go overboard (moderation is key) but I have my bad moments, that's for sure!
  • That's fantastic news, @nan199678 - you've got to be comfortable with the people you are dealing with - we are going to see them a LOT in the next couple of months!! ;) And during one of the most intimate, important time in our lives!
  • My last 4 week appointment was week at 28... so I had an apt at week 30, 32... and will have 34, 36, 37, 38, 39 and 40! So, only 6 appointments left for me!! My doc's office scheduled ALL my appointments way back when (like around week 16) so that made it easy for me.
  • And enjoy that baby all to yourself... that is one of the biggest things I missed after I had my first. All those little kicks and jabs were just for me, then I had to share ;) And then it started talking and walking... and talking back ;) haha
  • It really has flown by... even faster than my first this time it seems. I remember complaining at the beginning about not wanting to wait so long - and now that I'm 7-8 weeks away, I want time to sloooow down! ;) Figures. Always want what we can't have! @ajzmann - you've done a fantastic job keeping up so far, that's not…
  • The weight gain can definitely be scary especially if you've just put in the work to lose a bunch of weight. It is hard to let go and let your body do what it needs to do. With that being said, it is also hard to not give in to all the pregnancy cravings knowing this is the only time in our lives we can 'get away with…
  • I kind of fell off for the past week or so... lots of work happenings that have kept me out of the office which is where I get on MFP mostly. Which also means I'm not tracking - but honestly haven't done too terribly, so I'm still not worried. Still only up 10-11 lbs. so far with about 9 weeks to go!! Woot! The heat here…
  • Happy Friday to you too! :) 30 weeks yesterday, and starting to really feel it! haha! Heartburn is kicking in more and more, and I'm pretty sure my lung capacity has decreased due to this little girl pushing on them all the time! Just saying on FB about how preggo women should NOT be required to wear real shoes with…
  • Fantastic advice! So I second this... all of it!
  • Sounds interesting! May be something I have to pick up - although, I'm 30 weeks now and also don't abide by all the 'rules' per se ;) But I'm sure it would still be an interesting read!
  • Great discussion! I am 30 weeks today... and I upped my calories to ~1700 in the first trimester, ~1850-1900 in the second trimester and now usually end up right around 2000-2100 calories each day. Again, I'm 30 weeks and I've gained ~10 lbs. I was about 10 lbs. heavier than I wanted to be when I got pregnant though, so…
  • @Joyfulteach - oh no! So sorry to hear that, but you'll be that much healthier for you and your baby in the long run - so not a terrible thing. Keep your chin up! I've been out of the loop all week because I was traveling for work and then out of town visiting family. It was NOT a good eating or working out week at all!…
  • Great goals, Julzet! And yes, Ajzmann - this is my second and both of my pregnancies have seemed to fly by! There are times of course that it seems to drag, but that's mostly day to day... but looking at the big picture, it always moves so fast!! I caught myself watching birthing videos on YouTube the other day - not a…
  • @Ajzmann - yes, those are very good points. It is definitely healthier to be in a good mental state and do your best physically then to be down on both. ;) I usually don't let it get to me, I just feel I'll regret it after I have the baby and struggle with weight - but again, I'll just do my best and hopefully I'll get…
  • You sound exactly like me, honestly. I do feel guilty for not being about to get myself into a workout routine like I promised myself this time around... I lack the desire, motivation, energy and time. All excuses, I'm fully well aware... but it doesn't change anything for me unfortunately. I wanted to get the Tracey…
  • Welcome back to you both... we're all just chugging along! :) We've created weekly goals for ourselves that we start on Sunday and check in each Monday to say how we did and what we will do to try to improve, etc. Just a little bit of accountability. ;) @Jagger - sounds like you've been doing awesome, that stinks about the…
  • Mine is 1 week from this Thursday. And @ajzmann - they are right, you are supposed to eat like you normally would. But I DO think you aren't supposed to eat for so many hours before the test. I can't remember what the # is... I'm not too worried about it because I have an 8:30 a.m. appointment, so I just figured I'll eat…
  • Weekly updates! I still have not started any kind of exercise tape or anything like that - I honestly don't know how I'll fit it in.. but I'll continue to keep it in my goals. I did get out for a couple of walks last week... but I'm just still not very consistent. Goal this week will be to get into a routine! I know not…
  • I actually have plenty of maternity clothes thanks to my sister and a few friends... but I do still frequent Zulily for their deals - so thanks!! ;)
  • I think you won't have any problems later with them... I buy mostly the under the belly pants, and then I actually fold them down once anyway. That way there isn't any pressure on my belly, know what I mean? That's why I had no issues wearing them later on as well. :)
  • Nope, not at this point... I may re-evaluate next week, but for now I'll leave mine as they are...
