Thyme, pepper, and a little butter (all to taste) pour melted mixture over fish filets and bake in oven. Lemon juice for a spritz on your fish tastes really nice too. Check out swai white fish, has the texture of catfish but not the taste. Also not as strong as some fish, this is great to coat with a Cajan spiced breading…

Stay motivated even when you are really tired, make sure to drink plenty of water, eat healthy - you are an example now, try to exercise - walking with your baby (if you carry them or push them in a stroller it's under a different cardio exercise), if you are breastfeeding you can add those calories into your diet - search…

It sounds like your dad has already made up his mind. There is nothing you can really do about their attitude and lifestyle. You can give advice and be a good example but that's about as far as you can go. Being an example of what one can achieve is probably the greatest thing you can do. You're parents have a set…

Well you could make suggestions on where to eat, invite her to your place and cook something healthy, bring healthy snacks with you so you kind of have an out if she offers you junk (no that's okay, I've brought some ___ that I'll eat, but thanks anyway), give her more of an explanation of what you feel is healthy and…

Welcome to the site. Good luck on your journey.

I have a mirrored closet doors that I workout in front of when I'm upstairs, if I'm down stairs then I use the Kinect which gives me an image of myself while I'm exercising depending on the game. Having a way to see what you are doing is awesome, also a great motivator to keep going or see how far you've come.

Oddly enough I'm going to suggest Good Will or Salvation army. You never really know what you'll find, since you are going to lose weigh you won't have to worry about wasting money on them when they start to fall off of you, and you are helping other people out.

Since you are doing them yourself then if I were you I would just try to take the time to make a recipe. So many different way people make wings/drums you could get a huge variation. Since you know exactly (or if you are like me when I could sometimes- at least roughly) what you used to make them your best bet is to make…

archine71 is right, it's more about a lifestyle change then the idea of making a "diet" stick. You need to take the steps to making it easy for you to go from a restricted calorie diet to eating naturally when you are at your goal weight. Exercise, knowing what's good for you and what's not, and being able to control your…

Are you making them yourself? If you are you could create the recipe in your food diary and get a calorie read from there. Choosing baked chicken wings or just chicken wing/drum meat, whatever seasonings and oils you use, and your sauce adding them together and putting down your serving size is a good way to do it. However…

If you are burning 1000 calories a day with exercise and only eating 1200 it doesn't seem like enough. You have to be able to fuel your body. However that is just my opinion. If you eat your exercise calories, or at least a few it may be good. But it's all personal preference till you get a professionals opinion on what…

lol to the son thing but great NSV.

There isn't a sure fire way to keep it from happening but you can take steps to minimize it. Keep hydrated, keep your skin lotioned, and keep a healthy diet. Genetics, time you've spent over weight, how you eat, all affect how your skin will react to weight loss.

Great job you look fab!

Support and knowledge is a lot of what the forums are about and since you need support and posting it's not whiny in my opinion. Glad to see that you've stuck with it even when it's getting harder. Also glad that you have decided to seek help other places too. I still have times when I wonder how I could be loved by…

Haven't tried it yet, but I tend to keep a running track of calories in my head till I can log them. Staying aware of what I've eaten helps me.

Thumbs up! Thanks for that.

Use the walking choices for your treadmill exercise, or if you have an accurate way to track your calories burned create your own exercise by going to Exercise- My Exercise - Create Exercise. You can create the exercise once and it will be under your exercises so you can add the times and calories burned through there.…

"NAAFA’s message of size acceptance and self-acceptance is often overshadowed by a $49 billion-a-year diet industry that has a vested economic interest in perpetuating discrimination against fat people. Without active financial support from people like you, NAAFA would not exist and could not fulfill its crucial role…

Congrats on a nice NSV and good luck with teaching 1st graders. They are so much fun and full of energy. Here is hoping that you continue on your weight loss with great success.

I did read the entire thing, and for the most part this man is putting information about the pros and cons of oatmeal. Taking mainly Quaker oatmeal into consideration. I don't think it's a bad thing to stay informed, and it is nice to try to find things that have both good and bad effects. However he does make some pretty…

From Wikipedia.org "Glycogen is a multibranched polysaccharide that serves as a form of energy storage in animals[2] and fungi. In humans, glycogen is made and stored primarily in the cells of the liver and the muscles, and functions as the secondary long-term energy storage (with the primary energy stores being fats held…

Being told exactly what to/not to eat isn't really going to help you in the long run. You need to figure out how to eat how you would for the rest of your life. Use foods that you would normally and adjust the amounts. However if you are willing to change your diet permanently you can start with small changes. Cutting out…

I think that growth spurts stop at a certain age, not necessarily due to weight but just genetics. Not an expert just a guess.

1200 calories is pretty much a generic lowest point for most people. From what I've read you aren't actually suppose to eat below your BMR. Since you have to have just that amount to survive if you were in a coma/ completely sedentary/ to just maintain life functions. So with a BMR of 1126 you would still need to eat 1200…

That is a bit harsh. Fast foods are taxed just like everything else. Food prices are high enough as is and if you should put another tax on things that have added sugar/sodium/sound or suspect is unhealthy then most of what I buy would be exceedingly expensive. If you have a personal agenda against "unhealthy foods" that's…

I wish I would get carded. I went and had a drink on my 21st birthday and they didn't even check me for being honest. I felt jipped!

My sister is 5 years younger than I am. From age 16 on she has been calling me old. Just a different mindset. I'm 27 (actually on the 25th I'll be 27 but close enough) now, and I've gotten use to the idea of others thinking I'm old - guess that's good because when my little one gets big enough to talk I'm sure he'll think…

Considering you don't really NEED to exercise to lose weight, I think that whatever you do will be great as long as you keep within your calories for eating. Exercise does speed the weight loss in some people, and it will make you look and feel better in the long run (if you don't over do it and hurt yourself). Hope you…
