  • Homemade protein bars. Do a quick google search and find one that fits.
  • Best spin-off of low carb pancakes I have ever had. Coconut flour pancakes with Walden Farms chocolate syrup and cinnamon on top.
  • "Cutting" typically is used in the Bodybuilding realm where "Bulking" refers to gaining weight and muscle mass/eating lots of calories, followed by a period of "Cutting" where you reduce calories to below your maintenance in order to reduce as much fat as possible and reveal defined muscles.

  • I have the same issue as you with "low carb"; it just doesn't seem sustainable in the long term for my personal preference. Maybe you could try carb cycling? http://chrispowell.com/carb-cycling-101/
  • I personally like to eat breakfast because if not I get too hungry later in the day and tend to overeat my first meal. A light and quick idea that would be cheaper than purchasing pre-made drinks is to blend up a smoothie with some frozen fruit and yogurt. In this way you could control the protein and sugar content and…
  • For the tofu I would recommend doing a baked version with oil sprayed over it and seasoned. Make sure that you use firm or extra firm tofu and squeeze all the water out so that you prevent it from turning mushy! Here's a recipe: http://www.davidlebovitz.com/2014/03/crisp-baked-tofu-recipe/
  • I tried it and I really like it. The texture is a little creamier and I personally like the hint of coconut in it.
  • I downloaded it onto my phone a couple of weeks ago. LOVE it- really provides variety and strength circuits.
  • The fiber is mainly in the fleshy (/fibrous) parts of almonds and coconuts. Almond and coconut milk is made after straining these parts away, thus the final product doesn't have any fiber in it.
  • Trader Joe's <3 <3 <3. -Frozen Bagged Chicken Breasts (Super cheap, typically $2.80/lb) -Salad Dressing: Fat Free Balsamic, or their Hummus Dressing -Bagged Salad Mixes: Cruciferous Crunch, bagged Kale, etc. -Natural Crunchy Peanut Butter -Sprouted Tofu -Latin-Style Black Bean Soup -Canned Turkey Chili -Organic Sweet…
  • Marinated chicken over a bed of veggies & a scoop of hummus.
  • Eggs over medium on top of a veggie hash :)
  • I'm in the sun a lot, don't use sunscreen (whoops) and have fairly tan skin so I did not suspect a vitamin D deficiency. Recent blood work and it shows that I'm low, which makes sense with some of the recent symptoms I've had in the past year. Prescribed 50,000 IUD/week.
  • Losing fat in the lower abdominal area comes with reducing your weight overall (through cardio and calorie deficit). Unfortunately you cannot spot train and tighten or get rid of fat in one area. Lower ab exercises you can incorporate into your workout to strengthen that muscle group: Hanging leg raises, V-Ups.
  • JJ's Turkey Tom Unwiche = 230 calories. McD's Southwest Salad, no Tortilla Chips, Sub Balsamic Dressing = 290 calories. Wendy's Chili (lg) = 310 calories. 2x Taco bell Fresco Tacos = 300 calories. Chick Fil A Grilled Market Salad + Light Italian Dressing = 225 calories. Arby's Chopped Turkey Salad + Light Italian Dressing…
  • Sweet potatoes. Homemade unwiches: Cheese, Deli meat, mustard or hummus, tomatoes, cucumbers wrapped up in lettuce. SOUP!: Current favorite is black bean (I really like the Trader Joe's boxed version)
  • Trader Joe's. I can't bring myself to buy more than like 3 things at Whole Foods, no matter how fresh it is.
  • My most recent swap has been using almond milk instead of regular milk. I drank about 2-3 cups of 2% milk; can't stand fat free dairy (used to be over 300 calories) but now almond milk is around 40 calories a cup. I agree with the posters above on filling in with veggies; they can be prepared in stir fries, baked (ie: kale…
  • Vegan diets exclude dairy products.
  • Also make sure that you're getting enough protein, especially with breakfast.
  • Tempt Protein Powder by Living Harvest. http://www.amazon.com/Living-Harvest-Original-16-Ounce-Container/dp/B000E23VXW
  • Mary's Gone Crackers, Kashi Crisps, or Crunchmaster Multigrain crackers. Wheat thins makes a 100% whole wheat/whole grain cracker now too though don't they?
  • 1) Greek yogurt with choice of mix-ins. 2) Cottage Cheese 3) Protein pancakes
  • I log after every meal so that I can listen to my body and see what I'm actually craving and try to fit it into my macros for the day.
  • Vodka waters, stay active/dancing/moving throughout the night, try not to drunk eat. I also tended to eat more low carb on the days that I went out drinking. The calories from alcohol can never be stored directly in your body as fat- because alcohol is a toxin, your body will neutralize it before processing other…
  • It's increased the complexion of my skin. My skin is clearer, I rarely break out, and my allergies are incredibly reduced. I also am less bloated and "puffy". The easiest transition for me was trading out refined grains for whole grains. Most breads, pastas, and even snacks have a whole wheat or whole grain counterpart.
  • The key is calorie deficit. If you are eating high amounts of sugar but are still eating less calories than you are burning, your body will process the sugar and use it for energy, and you will lose weight. Many people tend to cut their sugar intake while dieting to save their calories for protein, complex carbohydrates,…

  • My favorite with Chia seeds is adding in cocoa powder, sweetener, and topping with shaved coconut. I used TJ's brand too.
  • Lunch meat makes a pretty good snack. Raw veggies like baby carrots with hummus. Also, greek yogurt with berries.
