  • You put sedentary, so that means no working out. So that is the number your body needs to work at 100% You exercise and burn 20%, so if you don't eat them back because you burned them, your body only runs at 80%. So then by not running on 100% it becomes sluggish and retains weight.

  • Remember that it's okay to have food left on your plate. That is one of my biggest issues when eating anywhere, including home. I was raised that, "The starving children in Africa, so finish your plate." Most servings are 2 to 3x the normal amount you should have. You can probably even ask for a salad plate or a to-go box…

  • It really depends on the Doctor and which findings and research they go by. My Family Doctor said unless you have IR then no Metformin not even while TTC as it's not a TTC drug. Both my OBGYN and Reproductive Endocrinologist say it's standard because Metformin improves parameters of IR, anovulation, acne, and other…
  • Hello, I have PCOS as well and have lost nearly 70lbs since January of 2010, so it can be done. Treating yourself like you are pre-diabetic is a great help because women with PCOS should follow a low-carb/low-GI diet. It's a pain and most of the time the progress is slow but it CAN be done and you CAN do it. Just have…
  • I remember learning about this in PE class a long while back, as well as my nutrition class I had to take as well. If I remember right we used http://www.mypyramidtracker.gov/ portion of it to show us what we were eating too much of and what we needed more of. It is actually more helpful than most people would think.
  • Try to make sure your porridge is of a rolled oat (not instant) variety. Even better if it's steel cut. I tend to eat oatmeal in the morning for breakfast as that carby fix to last me through the day. Most people who say to "cut back on carbs" seem to forget that fruits are loaded with carbs as well. Not just breads and…
  • Buy low sodium low cal chips or make your own by grabbing some low cal corn tortillas, cut into wedges, spray with some PAM and oven bake at 350F until crispy.
  • You can also make your own black bean burgers if that's the type you're looking for. 1 (15 oz) can black beans, drained and rinsed 1 (14.5 oz) can tomatoes with zesty mild chilies 1 clove garlic minced 1 teaspoon onion powder 2 green onions, chopped 1 cup chopped carrots 1 cup cilantro 2 cups old fashioned rolled oats…
  • I love their Griller's 1/4lb burger. Tastes very authentic. :)
  • No, you won't lose the weight with that attitude. Try to see some positives and remember that it takes 30 days to form a habit so just keep at it. In the beginning I was horrible at tracking and going over my calories, now however I'm getting pretty good at it and manage to go over only by a hundred or so. Keep at it, even…
