  • Maybe add some more vegetables? I am really fond of roasted vegetables. I find it really enhances the vegetables natural flavors. It's very simple to do as well, which is great! Not to mention they are low in calories, so you can eat more and maintain a satity. Good luck!
  • Goodness! I am not starving. I promise, I eat first. If I'm full then I get the coke. If not I might drink the coke later instead. Sorry but some of these suggestions are outlandish. I will not get rid of one coke. I used to easily drink 5-6 a day. I like my one. I rarely drink coffee, this is my coffee. Actually since I…
  • I just checked and I've only been over my sodium once, and that was today. FWIW I do not like hamburger helper and very rarely eat it. I didn't have any chicken left and I had none thawed to cook. So I ate hamburger helper, it's okay. If it makes anyone feel better my plate was over 3/4 full with veggies, I do love roasted…
  • Great advice. Sometimes if you feel like you have not lost any weight you can go back and look to see how far you have come.
  • No they are not the devil, and they are necessary to the body for energy. I must admit I don't love all food, but I love most food. I do think of myself like the turtle in the race to better my health. Gives me perspective.
  • I do have the New rules of lifiting book, and I had started some of it before I quit last go around. I was planning on getting back into it or strong lifts when I regained some endurance. Yes, I probably do not drink enough water. I average 7 cups per day (plus 2 from tea and 1 from coke). I tend to forget to track that…
  • I am NOT doing keto or low carb. I will not give up my solitary coke either. I used to drink more than one a day, one is not going to kill me. This is not some quick fix, this is something that is going to be with me the rest of my life. Low carb is not sustainable to me. Good idea weighing once a month. I do tend to…
  • I just started back exercising, and am building up slowly. Three days per week for now, that may increase in the future, but this is all I can do now. I do machine weights for strength. I usually am at the gym when no one else is there and do not feel comfortable with most free weights, although i do some. Cardio consists…
  • I'm not trying to rush this, I want that to be clear. I just want to make sure that I'm off to a good, yet mangeable start. I want to have some flexibility to increase if needed, but not so much decrease. Anything under 1600 usually puts me into a miserable human being. I've already been through the 800-1200 diet and…
  • I only use cups for liquids, everything else is weighed out. I was tracking very heavily about 2 years ago but quit and stopped everything including exercise. BTW the biggest eyeopener was my oatmeal. A 1/2 cup and the 32gr (i think it is, i'd have to check package), are two entirely different amounts. So yes, I'm a big…
  • Yes, I use a food scale, or measuring cups to correctly portion all food. I think this number came from MFP. However I have done the TDEE and my BMR is around 1900, TDEE around 2500. Minus 750 for a 1.5lb/wk deficit brings me to 1750. I don't fret too much, main goal in mind is to stay under 2000.
  • I weigh and measure everything, so yes unfortunately it's 200 calories. That's the only condiment I regularly consume and only when I eat tuna fish. I cannot drink diet sodas, or consume any artificial sugar (or stevia, or agave syrup). Hamburger helper is a load of processed crap, but I'm out of chicken so that's what was…
  • Thank you so much! Really thank you. I finally got it on that last post, and I really wasn't trying to be difficult. I've honestly never messed with the settings that much here except to change from 1200 calories to 1800 calories. This is what my bar at the top currently looks like: 1,689 CALORIES REMAINING…
  • Feel free to add me. I eat carbs, and eat about 1800 calories (but am going tto be eating more now!). I love food, and I eat pretty much everything. Sometimes I eat clean, but sometimes not. I just eat what I want. This is my life. I'm not "dieting" anymore. As of now I do not lift. I am on week 5 of the C25k program, and…
  • I hate to say this, but the above completely confuses me! I run 3x per week, and no exercise at all on the other 4 days. I did get a bike recently to use on my off days, for a varied cardio experience, and to prevent boredom. So I did the average of 7 days (3 run, 4 off) and that was 2449/1753=1.39. SO now I multiply the…
  • According to MFP my BMR is 1,753, scooby is 1841. When I said BMR last night, I meant TDEE, my apologies as I had just been using various BMR calculators around (plus your spreadsheet if I'm not mistaken) to make sure that I had the right numbers...SO I had BMR on the brain instead of TDEE... Average TDEE of 5 non exercise…
  • 204.2
  • I contacted mexismom because I wasn't sure what to do as I was out of town and wasn't able to weigh from Thursday am until tonight. So I'll give both weights, and there is a huge difference as a lot of factors are involved (I am extremely sunburned so I am chugging water like crazy, we ate out 4 times, went to the movies…
  • I'm in! I'm Razz, and I'm hoping maybe this will be the perfect way to keep me motivated. I have a goal to loose 25 pounds by November 16th, so let's see how it goes! Friday weigh ins will be a bit different for me, as I generally do Mondays, but I'm going to do it!
  • Honestly, I am going to be in same boat. Group of us going out for dinner, drinks, and dancing. I'm throwing everything out and just going to have fun. Just go have fun, and chalk it up as a "cheat" day. If you are going to drink at all, Monday will be a disappointment. I have always found that alcohol dehydrates me and i…
  • Yup! You need to net your BMR always, but definitely eat your cut amount all the time.
  • Way to go!!! Keep up the good work! I'm on week 5 day 1 and dealing with a bit of knee pain right now. I knew it was a matter of time, and my road is awfully soft right now, so much more resistance. I'm taking off a few days and letting it rest up.
  • I grabbed my bowl of cereal and watched it. In the beginning I was so much more uncomfortable with losing weight slowly, in fact seeing that stupid number climbing terrified me! I think if I hadn't had a maid of honor dress to stay fitting in, I would have not cared as much as I did. However, now I'm really seeing downward…
  • Wow! WTG girl!!! My fitness victory is doing week 5 of the c25k on my dirt road that is very soft and hilly.I can actually run it at a nice 5-6mph and feel pretty good.
  • I've heard of modifying it so that you can use an exercise ball, or just doing it on the floor. I don't know if we are allowed to link to other forums, but I sent you something that explained some things.
  • VERY cool!!! TYVM!!!!
  • That is a great article! I really hope no one thinks I'm discouraged. If you consider it, I've lost 2/lb per week, which I'm happy with. I'm not as thrilled with the inches, but it's okay. I'll get there some day. As long as I am losing in one form or another (scale or tape) then all is well :)
