I have lived in a right to work and non right to work states doing the identical job in each state. Basically the only difference was wages. Once the wages stagnated for an unacceptable period of time, I quit. There were no differences in safety standards or any other facet of the job. Unfortunately here in MI the wages…

It can be confusing. I talked to a guy I know in the Electrical Workers Union. His take on it was that the non union worker will be entitled to the same representation benefits as a union worker. In other words, receiving representation for nothing. I'm not sure if this is an accurate portrayal. On the other hand, I am all…

Eating fat doesn't make you fat. Eating too many carbs makes you fat.

It's not that they burn the beans, they just make black coffee really strong. I'd suggest watering it down to your liking. "They" say a strong cup of coffee watered down is less bitter than cutting back on the amount of coffee in the basket when they brew it.

I drink mine black, it helps me stave off the late afternoon snack cravings. I too love the flavor variations!

CONTROL- it's the biggest benefit to MFP. I had a horrible snacking habit, second and third helping habit. I would routinely overeat. After joining MFP and set reasonable goals, I learned to space my eating and slow waaaay down and enjoy my food. I loved starchy sugary snacks. MFP helped me get control over the mindless…

I am edging toward 40 and have become proficient in two trades and knowledgeable in a couple other trades. I am unable to even find a…

While I hate the subjective judging sports (basketball included), the athleticism to reach the Olympics in any event is a talent to be admired, well except for luge (winter Olympics). I think it was Seinfeld that did a hilarious bit on how they choose luge sliders.

MFP is a great tool to help. I found if I counted the calories and watched my total left over decline, it was a huge deterrent to overeating. It also help stop the mindless munching I was doing. I'd sit down with some chips and 6 or 7 servings later I still had no idea how many calories I ate. Also, I was able to retrain…

I had the same experience with MFP.

Keep up the good work. Don't worry if you plateau for a few days, just be faithful with the app and it all works out.

I'm there with you. I can chastise myself for eating that heavy pizza the night before and only exceeding my quota by 350 calories. I can then remind myself over the next 4 days why I shouldn't have eaten that way as I recover the ground I lost.
