  • what kind of scale did you get? I just noticed this morning that my scale changes its mind if you het on it more than once .... it was like a 5 lb range so I guess another new one is in order :(
  • That's awesome that you've lost all that weight! I don't know that I can help with your question but a friend of my Moms had a gastric bypass a few years ago and the dr told her the only way to get rid of the excess skin was surgery. Not sure if that applies when you don't cheat to lose weight but thought I'd put it out…
  • I'm kind of in the same boat ... I started at 255 and I weighedin this morning at 246.6. I don't think I've plateaued or done any tonight this week but we had a birthday party yesterday and I wasn't keeping track this week so now I've got to get back at it. My boys don't catch me exercising since I go to Zumba but my 3…
  • Breakfast for me is usually a Special K cereal especially the yougurt and chocolate (with a few slices of banana). I'm not a big eater but it keeps me going until lunch where I pretty much eat what I want but do it on the run so I can't go back for 2nds :)
  • I can't say that I "found" motivation anywhere ... something in my head went off one day that I had to do this or I was going to be fighting the same battles my Mom is at this point. Now that I've started some sort of routine I can't seem to stop :) I'm actaully looking into adding on :) I haven't lost much but I found…
  • I was actually comfortable in a shirt yesterday that I wouldn't wear unless it was undersomething else a month ago ... like the topic say, it's the little things that keep us going. You're all going to hear me yelling and having a party when I finally get into the next size down jeans :)
  • I totally understand what you're going thru ... my doc told me to keep my head on straight but not to deprive myself. He said if you're craving something (like chocolate) to have like a snack size bar instead of a regular one. If you're craving ice cream use a little bowl and get a lite one (Gian Eagle Churned is pretty…
  • Good luck! I found that Zumba has been a huge help for me and one of my "teachers" introduced me to doing it with weights which takes an already insane workout to a new level. If you go to zumba.com you can find classes near you, they are way more helpful than the DVD's. If you've never seen it you can go on you tube and…
  • I personally hate the scales with dials ... they drive me nuttier than I already am. I recently bought a Taylor digital scale on eBay I paid like $10 total for it. The one I had before it was a Taylor digital and my Mom also has a Taylor. I think I've seen them at Wal-Mart and Target for about $20.
  • If you're looking for support ... this is the place. Everyone is really helpful and when you're having a bad day or need a boost you can usually find something on here to do just that. We're all here for the same reason :)
  • That's awesome that you've lost like that so far ... my doctor advised that it's not real good to lose too fast cause it all comes back quickly. He said that if it come off slowly it's cause you're learning new habits along the way. Personally I'd rather it come off quickly and stay off :) Anyway, just thought I'd share…
  • You can do this! The idea that I've done it before doesn't help me any, it actaully makes it worse :) I'm down 10 of the 75 I want to lose so it's going to be a long haul but they say the longer it takes to come off the better chance you have of keeping it off cause you're "changing your lifestyle" or so I've been told.…
  • I wish I had an iPhone to help keep better track ... I'm sure I eat little things I don't think about when I get home and enter stuff. Anyway, welcome to the site ... it's been an inspiration to me or more like an incentive cause I know I have to account for what I put in my mouth. I was lax at it last week cause we…
  • I'm with y'all ... I'm also with the down 20 by Halloween so 30 by Christmas should be doable then I'd like to be down another 20 by St. Patrick's Day ... 50# in about 30 weeks doesn't sound that bad to do :)
  • Welcome to the site ... I joined a few weeks ago and it's been a huge help to me. I stop and think before I have "junk" food cause I know I have to account for it on here ... it's like having someone looking over my shoulder all the time. There is a lot of support on here and seems to be quite a few that are willing to…
  • I have to get away from food .... go somewhere I can walk without a place to eat ... then I walk until I have a game plan.
  • I"ve been here for a couple weeks and it's a huge help to me. I'm like you I get bored with things easily but I'm determined this time ... I have to for my health ... but you won't get more ordinary than I am. I'm a SAHM with 2 boys 21 mos and 3 1/2 ... my hubby owns an excavating business so we have really weird schedules…
  • I'm looking for a treadmill too ... please let me know what you decide on and how you like it. I've heard that the ellipticals are easier on the joints but I'm hoping one day to be able to run again and not so sure that would work for that ... then again maybe by then I'll have won the lottery and have everything I want as…
  • Welcome! I have 2 boys ... 3 1/2 and 21 months, I've fought my weight all my life but I've had several wake up calls in the last couple years, the latest was my Mom struggling with borderline diabetes. I don't want to go there so I'm on a war path to lose weight so I don't have that battle later in life. So, we're all here…
  • I think it was definately in the air cause I totally blew it over the weekend and today wasn't much better :( We ran all weekend and I hadn't planned ahead so I paid the price. Tomorrow is a new day and I'm going to try and behave myself and maybe as punishment hit another Zumba class this week. Glad I have here to remind…
  • I've been here a couple weeks now and if online support is what you're looking for, you hit the jackpot! Seems like there's no end to the information you can find or people that will at least try to answer your questions. Best of luck on your journey ... it's a hard one.
  • I haven't been here long, I learned about it from a friend. I've battled my weight forever (it seems) but I've decided that I'm tired of being heavy and not having the energy to chase my boys (or mule) thru the neighborhood and I am going to change that. Add to that the fact that my Mom is borderline diabetic and here we…
  • I just started going last week and I love it but I've been entering it under the dance category. I think it depends who your instructor is ... the one i had Monday night was insane but Thursday night was a lot slower paced, I was still sweating but it wasn't to the point where I wanted to ring my shirt out afterwards.…
  • Wow! 100 in 6 months is amazing! I'd be thrilled to do that in a year or a year and a half!! CONGRATULATIONS! I'm pretty new to the site but everyone seems to try and help when they have something to offer which is really awesome. I wish you the best of luck at hitting your target!
  • When he balks about having to watch the kids, tell him you'll hire a babysitter if he can't handle it but you're going either way. That would get my other half to be quiet. As for the comments, mine is the same way. He'd rather make comments about what's wrong rather than compliment me for what I've done. I saw that…
  • I'm also not big on vegetables ... anything green that isn't a bean just doesn't sit well with me. So far I'm losing by just watching my portions but I know the day is coming that I'm either going to have to ramp up on the exercise or start to eat salads :( I saw someone suggested looking at the recipes on here for other…
  • I've had them too but I did when I got pregnant and cut caffeine out of my diet and since my rule is nothing else to drink until the 8 glasses of water are down ... there isn't much sugar in my diet hence, the headaches are back. I'll be glad when my body adjusts and they go away cause I hate biting people's heads off just…
  • I looked at a few days of your food diary and it doesn't look like you went overboard anywhere, actually you had calories left at the end of the day. Maybe you just hit a blip in the process or need to try doing something different for exercise? I've been told if you do the same thing all the time you'll plateau .. not…
  • I totally get where you're coming from ... my hubby doesn't see what I've changed but he's the first to make a jab about "that's a big piece of cake" or "didn't you have ice cream last night too" ... it's frustrating as heck. He claims it's cause he sees me every day, my argument is if he sees me every day and one day…
  • Congratulations! You look like you're feeling better about yourself ... I can't wait!
