Hi, I'm April and new to your challenge groups. 4 weeks and accountability is just what I need! Haven't weighed myself for a while (have been going by clothes) deep breath!

I use Tesco and Sainsburys, Tesco have better offers in fresh food. But no supermarket can beat my local street market for price or quality - fantastic RIPE fresh fruit, especially at this time of year. And often there are entire big bowls of produce - tomatoes, peppers etc for only £1. I also like handing money over to…

I would definitely have lost at 1200 OR 1800 with that exercise and I have less to lose. My guess is that you're not logging all you eat and drink properly. Weigh everything and log everything - drinks, cooking oil, sugar, any snatched mouthful. Don't worry about the last few weeks. New habits, portion sizes etc need to be…

It sounds like you're hungry quite a lot of the time and I wonder if that's making it more torturous? I find eating low-ish carb most of the time (for life) has helped me feel a deal less hungry and less restricted at the same time. It's not for everyone, but it might suit you.

Don't make any jokes that aren't funny once, let alone ten times

The post is anonymous. Nobody is exposed. The request was for advice, not for judgements. There is a difference. It's a forum after all. Being able to read a large number of peoples' views has been very helpful to me. Even if it is 'butt out', like yours, or 'I have this problem too'. If we lived by your rules, nobody…

Thank you so much everyone for taking the time to reply to my post. I will sit down and read all the responses this evening. I'm sorry if some people think it's mean to even consider approaching the topic. But if it wasn't very difficult, I wouldn't have asked for advice. April.

Wow, poor you. Well done for getting back on track. I find going back to the first phase always helps me push things along a bit.

My understanding is that it doesn't really work like that - ie like the zone which has set %s, or Atkins where you have to eat below a certain number of carbs. You are changing the % protein, carb and fat you're eating every 17 days and this works much more on the basis of allowed and not allowed foods - so it's sort of…

Lentils. Esp puy (they are small greeny-black colour) you cook them with water, but the best way is to cook them with a little carrot, onion, celery, chopped bacon, mixed herbs in stock and wine. You can mix and match any of those extras. Dead good with roast veggies. Or some pan-fried tofu if you're veggie. Red lentils…

It's hard to motivate somebody. Face it that she's not in the same mode as you. And it sounds like her husband doesn't help - it is so much easier when you only have your own meals to deal with. You could tell her that you have strategies in place to deal with your weak moments and if she would like, you can go through…

Finished and out.

Philadelphia extra light with a bit of vanilla and splenda makes a very good frosting

Some very good advice here - note that the cardio can be walking - here is a study that's interesting. And if you have a new dog, it might fit with your lifestyle http://www.nhs.uk/news/2012/04april/Pages/walking-treatment-depression-symptoms.aspx I think what one of the other posters said about eating natural foods is…

I think there's been a case made for oily fish - salmon, sardines, mackerel (not tinned tuna) and depression. They are low enough calorie to include on any healthy diet.

Day 9 complete.

I do day 10 of level 3 tomorrow and will measure then, BUT, I am not expecting much. I have been monitoring my progress as I go by trying on a pair of trousers and a dress that are both on the small side. There doesn't seem to be any good news. I have been eating under TDEE (averaging - 15%) during the entire 32 days that…

Ha! I love it when people notice that I've lost weight and will happily tell them all about it in boring detail... But, if somebody asks me a question I don't like, about a subject I find too personal, I keep the answer very vague and boring. That tends to send a signal that you're not keen to discuss plus the lack of…

How about making a chilli - he can have his with rice, you can have yours with a side of tomato salsa, guacamole, sour cream / greek yogurt and he can have the sides that he likes (everyone likes guacamole). If chilli is too heavy, then breaded chicken or fish and the same sort of sides - salsa, guac, sour cream,…

Thanks for the responses. It looks like it's underestimating more than over. Hmm Better check I put my details in correctly. My food logging is def not so far out...
-
Wow, fantastic. And that does sound like it tallies. Maybe P Castagner is on to something and I'm not loggin accurately enough. I will be vigilant!
-
I'm using mfp and I'm pretty accurate on weights / measures / mouthfuls FITbit says I've burned 60499 in last 4 weeks, eaten 38241, even if I have been under-accounting, it would only be by the odd hundred here or there... I suppose I was mainly looking to answer the topic headline question

Day 8 complete. I have gone mad and am posting to myself. I will give it my all for the next two days and then I'M DONE!

Try diluting the peanut butter with some extra light Philadelphia. Or marmite and philly if you're British (don't try this if you're not British). A scraping of yellow mustard and thin sliced Emmenthal or ham is very good. Cottage cheese with a tomato and coriander and chilli salsa on the top. But there's something about…

Maybe you only find out about Level 4 when you've done L3 x 10..... Checking in L3 D7. Hated it today.
-
Level 3 Day 6 done. Despite lack of sleep, I sort of wanted to do it. There's a nice sense of being on the home stretch.
-
Level 3 day 5 - done it. Half way through this one. It's hard on the arms innit.
-
Like this for me. I felt that my body noticeably changed about 6 days in to level 1. Haven't noticed much more since and I'm now on D5L3. I don't weigh, just have a few clothes items I'm trying to get back into. I am going back to L1 once I've completed the programme, possibly with heavier weights. I wonder whether it's…

Tick of D4 L3.

I also couldn't fit it in yesterday. But didn't feel bad because one of my chores was loading up a van full of sacks of rubble and taking it to the recycling centre. It was like circuit training anyway and I was quite pleased with how I was able to carry heavy sacks and upend them into skips. I should be able to get back…
