I'm not a doctor or an expert at all, but I've personally seen 5lbs of fluctuation within a couple days due to water weight, so 10lbs over the course of a couple weeks, especially considering what you would be losing normally doesn't seem out of the realm of possibility =)

Going by this formula, the result in MFP search is pretty close to what I get from this formula. I was wondering if maybe MFP took my weight into consideration when logging this stuff - this suggests that it probably does, and it explains why it would be different for other people as well. This is amazing. I'm at 388lbs currently, and that's after losing 9. Started waking up early in the mornings to walk, and I've been doing a mile every morning. I think after seeing this, I'm going to step up my game a little bit! Thanks man.

I always thought it was just a motivator. Sometimes it's close, sometimes not, I don't think it matters. It's helped to motivate me in the past, and it's not something that people are going to rely on.

From what I understand, those last few lbs are pretty difficult to drop. I've dropped 35 since May 3rd eating 1900 cals/day, but I'm also a quite a bit heavier than you are. It's pretty hard to say. I started May 3rd, and I'm at about 15lbs lost so far. I weigh in on Fridays, actually kind of excited to see what it comes out to in a couple days. Too bad it has to slow down!

In my normal routine during the week, I hit ~925 cals once I finish lunch (my goal is 1900 right now, and I've been told that's still low for my stats). Thanks for all the replies! I think I maintain this, I don't feel like I'm starving myself or out of energy. I think I'll just try to get as close to 1900 as I can daily and not worry about it. I'm curious to see where that gets me in a couple of weeks. Thanks again!
