  • I just did a major culling of my makeup collection this fall, and my collection is still pretty ridiculous. I LOVE lipstick and my newest favorite is Lancome color design, great quality and color (I got Corset). Also, I've never been much of a lip gloss girl, but I really like Stila's lip glazes. Stila has some great eye…
  • It's terrible how many of you wear minty stuff on your lips. Mint is a skin irritant! Most Chapstick and similar products contain mint. Same with lavender and essential oils. All very bad for skin. Check the ingredient labels, always. It is great how many people are saying sunscreen, though! WTG! My must haves are: Naked…
  • The best way to keep flappy skin at bay is to lose weight slowly, but who wants to hang on to their jiggles for any longer than necessary? ;) Even so, the skin thing is a problem. Supplements might help some, but there is no miracle cure and if anything claims to be a miracle cure, don't believe it! No cream will firm…
  • All you're doing here is asking for our permission to leave him. I for one, won't give it to you unless there is actual abuse or infidelity. The most important thing in a marriage is commitment, not love. You can't even develop true, deep love without true commitment. True love is not self-serving, and it has nothing to do…
  • Great job! You're beautiful!
  • Why the hate for walking? I don't do walking videos, but all of my weight loss is from walking. It's the safest cardio out there for most people. Don't be exercise snobs. If you're looking for videos, try going to collagevideo.com for ideas. They make it easy to search and have overview vids of everything.
  • Don't forget the lead! Omg! http://www.snopes.com/science/stats/lipstick.asp
  • I would guesstimate about 2 lbs loss/per week for the first month or two depending on where you're starting from and between 1 lb and 0.5 lb/per week from then on out. According to my original calculations (using about the same formula as you) I should have been at my goal weight in the beginning of August. I still have 13…
  • Thank you for not hating. I like the way you have developed logical systems for dealing with your anxiety. Manipulating your brain into sanity (or something close) is a great way to overcome the illogical anxiety that you feel. That's very similar to what I do, but I like your stop light visual. My depression and anxiety…
  • You will never get out of depression/anxiety by focusing on yourself. There is no amount of "me time" or "self care" that will help you. It is true that taking care of yourself and looking better will help you feel a little better, but that's not enough to get you out of depression. The problem with treating depression is…
  • Good man! Keep chivalry alive!
  • Don't get too toned in the midsection if you want to look good in a corset. Corsets can't give muscular gals very good curves because they work by displacing fat and squishiness (not constriction like most people assume). You just can't move muscle around in the same way. I make and design corsets, btw ;)
  • It will get a little better with practice, but more water = more trips to the bathroom. I'm a choir singer, so I'm a big water drinker. Maybe instead of sipping all day try to drink two glasses of water with each meal so your bladder isn't constantly full. That will also help you feel full faster.
  • You look great! Especially your legs. I can't wait to get to that point myself =)
  • Try Ellen Barrett videos. Hers are more flowing pilates, yoga, ballet inspired. Just as effective as the hop-till-you-drop type vids, but you feel energized afterwards, instead of being drained. I've got some old injuries that I have to be careful with and her vids have helped me a lot. Some of her older ones are a bit…
  • Married a comic artist ;) He's doing a lot of reformatting his strips lately, but check out oycomics.com Has no one mentioned Bone (by Jeff Smith) yet? You can hardly call yourself a comic book nerd if you haven't read Bone! It's required reading in this house ;)
  • I like noses, especially straight ones. I find noses fascinating =) Dark hair, beards (neat, not mountain man), and cute older men.
  • About 20 lbs for me. Most the time I still look like the same fat girl to myself in the mirror, but the other day I found some old pictures of myself . . . Yikes! How on earth did I get that fat and not notice it? The curse of having been a skinny girl. The things I let myself get away with thinking my skinny girl…
  • NOOOO!!!! How am I gonna get "legs like Katherine" now?!? Guess I'm gonna have to go hunt down my favorite Kendal Hogan vid and actually *buy* it. Gasp!
  • Did you not read what I said? My kids get no fries on a general basis. If they're lucky they get to eat fast food once or twice a year. Give the apple slices to the fat kids and give my kids some damn french fries!
  • Supply and demand, dude. If the consumers are demanding more fat the restaurants are going to supply it because that's what sells. Personally I'm sick and tired of fast food places bowing to the pressure of people like Mrs. Obama. We went out for a fun family day and decided to eat at McDonalds for a treat and I was PISSED…
  • Great job! Keep it up =)
  • Great job! You're inspiring =)
  • This thread, itself, is an illustration of the problem. Seriously girls, bullying men does not make you a real woman. I have a hard time believing any of you are as happy with yourselves as you claim, seeing how you have to attack men to make you feel better about yourselves. You girls crack me up! Lol!
  • Yes there is a crisis, but it has nothing to do with pink shirts, fruity drinks, or men being domineering. People equate being a manly man with being a womanizer or a wife beater now days and it's just not true. A real man does what's right no matter what it costs him. A real man stands up for those who are weaker than…
  • -I eat a lot of the same things I ate before MFP I just watch the portions and only eat the really bad stuff if I'm really, really craving it (I love old fashioned doughnuts!). I think it's better to make small changes to your diet than to completely change it right off the bat. That way it's easier to make it a habit…
  • We don't have Chick fil A in WA, but you all enjoy! Support free speech whether or not you like what's said!
  • It sounds a little heavy to me, but pounds sit differently on everybody. I know 7 years ago when I was trying to loose baby weight every website I went to said that I needed to be 120 to just be healthy! I'm 5'6 and I was 135 as a tiny little twig in high school, so I knew that wasn't right. Right now my stated goal is…
  • Honestly, this sounds like fad diet faux science. The truth is that scientists don't really know what perfect nutrition is. Our idea of what healthy eating looks like changes every decade or so. There are some crazy people out there that can afford the time energy and money it takes to follow a strict eating plan, but for…
  • Younger, but people usually think my husband looks older. When we were dating I was usually mistaken for 14-16 and he was usually mistaken for 25ish, so we got a lot of funny looks. We're only 10 months apart and we were both 20. I think it's evened out a bit over the years, though. I'm 30 now and people are always…
