  • Eek, hope this isn't taken as an advertisement. I didn't mean it in that way - just thought it was such a fab workout in a time most people could manage. Hope it's ok?
  • Very welcome :-)
  • I don't have cheat days. I don't feel nice after them and I wouldn't risk a cheat day escalating into a cheat week. And I like healthy foods more. Peas for the win!
  • I just get salads, and ask for certain things to be changed. Yesterday I asked for olives with no oil, they looked at me strangely but were very polite and obliged. :-) I prefer wine to food, so a salad keeps the calories low enough to give me room for a few glasses.
  • Hot fruit salad - banana - blueberries - frozen summer fruits (I use because they're there all year round and cheaper haha) - Bran flakes Mix together in a pan, add bran flakes last. Yummy and nourishing. :-D
  • I use calorieperhour.com - when I've compared it to the (digital, so counts calories) equipment I use, rather than my standard equipment, it's generally correct so I trust it as a good estimate.
  • That's terribly sad. :-( There are so many health risks, and that doesn't improve your psychological standing on food at all, just makes it worse. What Doctor would allow that? Ugh.
  • I find the same thing as Jennw29 :-) Don't worry, keep persevering. I make sure only to log my weight officially here every 1-2 weeks, but measurements more often, that way I get a better record of progress, and not one that demotivates me.
  • Very occasionally, it's fine. :-) It's just bad if it escalates and becomes more and more often. If you're not hungry, and it seems to be happening a lot, eat slightly higher calorie food. Sometimes liquid like milkshake or juice help make up the calories. Hope this helps xxx
  • My best friend's mum works in Goverment as a nutritionist, I was speaking to her about negative calorie foods and she said that although not all the ones listed online are correct, it does take your body more energy expanditure in the digestion process than the calories consumed. So of course, the misunderstanding is…
  • I notice today your water seems low. I'd suggest increasing that and keeping veggies ready to snack on in the fridge. Try to reduce anything high in sugar and increase protein.
  • Definately endurance for me  I do have bad legs, but before they became so unstable I ran every day. I was never really fast, but I find running very slowly is harder work. A medium speed works best for me. Those apps definately sound useful, though the Nike one on my ipod doesn't seem to work. Best advice I've ever…
  • You can buy these on amazon: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Accu-Measure-Fitness-Personal-Tester/dp/B000G7YW74/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1335731385&sr=8-1 I've got one, and it seems very accurate  It doesn't show visceral (sp?) fat, of course, but it's absolutely consistent and comes with clear instructions. Plus it's cheap!…
  • How's it going, lovely?
  • Funny you should say that, I usually drink strong cafeteiere coffee! I developed that when I could only afford cheap instant and couldn't stand the taste with something else. Sinful and ashamed though I am, haha. You're very welcome for the ideas :-D
  • It could be fluid retention, but I've always been taught it is possible to build muscle at a deficit. Hence someone who suffers eating problems such as Anorexia Nervosa can build muscle. It isn't always the case, of course, and is much more likely if you are exercising at a higher cardio rate. Either way, though, it…
  • Yes, you do burn more calories trying to regulate body temperature, but you're right much of the weight loss is simply water-weight. So long as you're increasing the amount of fluids you drink, you should be able to tell if the weight loss is real or not. In extreme cold, it can be necessary to raise calories, but in the…
  • Hi mnichols, Keep persevering! :D You're doing fabulously! Weight loss does slow down after the initial weeks, but don't forget muscle tone either. Muscle mass going up can cause what looks like weight-gain. Do you do measurements as well? This might help you. If you're body's toning up, the scale might be decieving but…
  • Just a random suggestion, but my sister did this for her two and it worked: Hide (or sell on if money's tight) the game controller and replace it with wii fit or xbox kinect. They can get a lot of exercise out of certain games and they probably won't even realise. Plus ebay has wii packages especially on the cheap. Another…
