  • My endocrinologist put me on Phentermine-Topamax to try to help me lose weight. I was just starting my third week and I can't take the side effects of the Topamax anymore. The pins and needles were tolerable, I was expecting that. What I didn't expect was the muscle weakness and soreness. Imagine having all the energy…

  • This is my birthday week so I have been a little bit of a slacker. I will be back on track after the weekend. I did have it crash on me once, other than that I have not noticed any issues, and I am liking the clean new interface.
  • I think they only care if you don't weigh enough. It can't hurt to ask... but I gave blood once and it takes a while from the arm, it may take quite a bit longer from the hand (where the dr's office usually takes it). If it is any consolation, the people who work for the blood banks are rockstars at finding veins, even…
  • I started vaping a few months ago after being quit almost 4 years. No judging, please - this is keeping me from picking up the cigarettes, and I am no longer in any danger of starting again like I was before I chose this alternative. I also think they aren't as addictive as regular cigarettes... if mine runs out of charge…
  • Both here too. I am not a cat lover or a dog lover, I am an ANIMAL lover! Three cats and two huskies here. I have fish as well, and if I had the time I would probably add even more to the menagerie.
  • Sounds a lot like my ex. We broke up because of his Internet pornography addiction. When they prefer that to you, then lie and hide it, you will never be able to trust him and it will not end well. Sorry. Get out while you can.
  • In a glass. Cold.
  • When fat is necessary, I use Organic coconut oil. It is very thin and less viscous than regular oils, so it coats better with a lot less and still gives you a nice toast or crust. I can get away with a teaspoon instead of tablespoon, cuts the calories in a third. I get non-fat plain greek yogurt in the big tubs, and add my…
  • I think fat is fat, all around 100 calories a tablespoon, right? Anyway, another BIG vote for coconut oil. It has a high smoke point and much thinner feel when it melts so I can use a lot less. And it gives everything such a marvelous crispy crust! I love my fish and chicken breasts fried in a tiny bit of it with just a…
  • 52 and have had one since April. The trick to using it successfully is to set your activity level to sedentary. Your calorie level will adjust downwards, and you will need to earn every extra calorie. It keeps me motivated, and if I see I am near a goal I will keep going until I reach it... like my first badge for 10…
  • Very nicely written - I feel every word of your pain! But with the support of our friends here, we can do this if we just never give up. I for one do not intend to this time.
  • Angel - 22. Kinda curious as to what you all think. No peeking, remember!
  • Get thee to a dermatologist. They can help.
  • I work for a beer distributor. One of the job requirements is that I enjoy a cold one at least once a day! Not really, but as long as the calories are there I know what I want to spend ~150 on.
  • Ice and a straw, add the flavorings if it helps. I like Mio - can't do the Crystal Light because of aspartame, and I only use enough for a light flavor. Even better, get the green tea flavors with real tea.I drink out of a quart mason jar, which has gotten me some comments at work, mostly good - people think it's "neat". I…
  • My urologist told me that if you have kidney issues that you shouldn't drink that much, because it makes your kidneys work too hard. I do anyway,.. I just always have ever since I did Atkins a decade ago.

  • I don't know how it is with you younger generation, but in mine that was known as an emotional affair... and it sounds like she was just looking for an excuse to cut you loose. And you gave it to her. I am not saying you were wrong for doing so, I wasn't there, so I can't judge your reaction. But you had every right to be…
  • I have a FitBit. They count every move I make, all day every day. So I set my activity level to sedentary - anything other than laying in bed counts. And I stick to it... I start with a lower calorie count and have to EARN every extra calorie I get.
  • I third! I have a beer every day, sometimes two. Just make sure you account for it in your calories.

  • I smoked a pack or two per day for over 35 years. I have now been smoke-free for three, and it was easy to quit. I used Chantix, and know of several other people who were successful with it, but not everyone can take it. It does have some side effects, and only you can decide if they are manageable. I did turn turn into a…

  • June 1: 244 June 8: 243 June 15: June 22: June 29: June 30: Goal 240 A NSV victory for me was having someone notice, and told me I had literally lost "a ton" of weight! lol, well I am only 1/3 of the way there, but I will take it. I am also down 2 sizes! Well, technically only one, but since I refused to buy the next size…
  • I know there are people who will yell at me for this, but I eat my dinner late specifically so I am not hungry before I go to bed, and it is my biggest meal of the day - roughly half my calories. I don't eat until 7 at the earliest, and last night I didn't eat until 8:30. It helps me with my control in the evenings if I am…
  • I love love loved iTreadmill. It was an awesome app - although I also occasionally used Runkeeper to keep track of loops. Now I have a Droid (it's a work thing) and there isn't anything comparable, so I only use Runkeeper.
  • Per breast: 1 cup water 1 Tablespoon kosher salt 1 Tablespoon honey 1 boneless skinless chicken breast Mix brine ingredients in a ziplock bag until dissolved. Add chicken breast(s), squeeze all of the air out. Let it soak for 1, or no longer than 2 hours. It will cause the chicken breast to suck up the water, and change…
  • Sodium that high will also make you retain water... so keep that in mind. If you have a day with sodium in the 3000s, you are almost guaranteed to put on some water weight, at least temporarily. I think that is much more likely than the workout.
  • I have been on a stall for the last two months. I was sick for a couple of weeks and had a nice birthday weekend, but I have still managed to stay under goal most of the time, and I have seen the same three numbers it seems like forever. I have to figure out a way to change it up!
  • Okay, I will give it a shot. I sure hope this stall breaks! I am down only three pounds for the last two months, and I am seeing 243-244 or 245 every damn morning whether I eat 800 or 1800 for the day! Here's to a new month... I am going to be conservative. • She does take placebos one week out of four. Many BC packs have an extra week that are basically sugar pills (some have an iron supplement) because most people find it easier to maintain a habit when done every day... however, the body needs to cycle, so the placebos allow that.
