Thanks y'all for the advice!!!! I'm looking at those links now.

Agreed!!! A HRM will give you the best results. I just purchased one and have realized that I've been over and/or under estimating my exercise!!!

Thanks...I hope it melts off! I am watching my sodium intake and eating more potassium!

Thanks!

Ok, thanks! I haven't changed my workout that much. Still walking like the past couple of weeks because of being sick. And my food intake hasn't been less because of being sick. I feel and look very bloated. I understand that weight fluctuates a couple of pounds from day to day....but 7 pounds? I'll just avoid the scale…

Thanks for the info! I am hoping something new will jump start weight loss. I think I've hit a plateau.

Just called the gym...and the class itself is 20 minutes. But tonight is the first night of "the series" and they are allowing for extra time in the beginning to talk about HIIT and model proper technique while using equipment. The rep said, "Oh no you would die if we did HIIT for 45 minutes." LOL Sound like the 20 minutes…

Maybe there's something else involved during the class? Before and/or after? I am not sure, but the schedule says HIIT training for 45 minutes.

There have been times where I've lost motivation. Losing weight is tough and requires a commitment. Don't throw in the towel!!! Celebrate little milestones. It sounds like you are overwhelm with making a lot of changes all at once. I've been using MfP for almost 70 days and have lost 15 pounds. Prior to starting I thought…

Weight loss is a battle and commitment. When my life/schedule gets hectic or busy, I will quickly stop eating well or stop exercising. This time around, I am more focused. I have specific goals set (my wedding). Also, I am surrounded by others who are trying to lose weight (work, friends, and family). They keep my…

True! I'm sooo impatient though. Lol. Honestly, I'm not sure what strength training is. :-/. I jog and do kickboxing DVDs. These DVDs include exercises with hand weights. So, yes? The DVDs focus on the upper and lower bodies (with weights) and abs.

I haven't always had large breasts. But when I packed on the weight about 3 years ago, I had no clue what to do with them! And I still don't. lol They are annoying as heck! It's frustrating to find shirts and jackets. I don't feel comfortable wearing tank tops. And working out is a pain in my bottom. I swear one day I'm…

Yay...for not giving up!!!! That's got to be tough!!! I am no nutritionist or dietician, but maybe save some of your exercise calories and not eat them all back? Have you changed up your exercise? Drinking plenty of water and no soda? Just some thoughts. Good luck to you!
-
Agreed...but it's been 2 weeks since the scale moved. I guess I am concerned because I lost the 6 pounds the first 2 weeks. Anyways, I'm still going to count and exercise!

:-)

That's why I really like MFP...great ideas, support, and encouragement!!!

I want instant results! Especially from the scale. But I know better. It takes time, but it's tough staying motivated when the scale isn't moving and my clothes don'tfit differently. 30 days....hoping that 60 days will be different! Just keep swimming...just keep swimming! :-)

I didn't measure myself at the beginning. But I did a couple of days ago so ill have something to go off next month!
-
@Amber. I would like to lose 20 pounds by the end of May (I'm attemding a wedding). And another 30 pounds by December because I'm getting married! That's about 5 pounds a month?
-
Well gosh, when you put it that way. Lol. I guess I want to drop the weight as quickly as I put it on. :-/
-
Yeah, I wish I would have measuredyself 30 days ago. Lol But I did last night.

I consume 1300/1400 calories a day (that's what MFP set up; I want to lose 1.5 pounds a week). I burn about 200-600 calories a day. Should I be eating back those exercise calories?
-
Thanks for the advice! Shakes do not fit into my budget right now. Unless you have a suggestion for a cost effective and tasty shake. ;-) I've thought about my calories. Do you eat back your exercise calories?

I work out from home as well. I walk/jog and use the Jillian Michaels Kicking boxing DVD (3 DVDs: upper body workouts, abs, and lower body workouts). I occasionally go to a Zumba class at the recreational center. Speaking of a recreational center, have you looked into that? They are typically cheaper than a gym membership.…
