Cardio's going to help you burn fat, but the more muscle mass that you build up with weight training, the faster your body is able to metabolize and burn calories. Yeah, I was thinking more about elevated side planks, where my arm is extended. I guess I'm just not sure at what angle my arm should be underneath my shoulder, and how much weight I should be putting on my feet because the pressure on my wrist is too much.

You don't really GAIN weight by eating too few calories, but you can stall your weight loss by eating too few calories. All that stuff about "starvation mode" is true. You just gotta' feel out your own body.
