Side Planks

Am I doing my side planks wrong? I don't feel like I'm engaging my core at all, and all they end up doing is hurting my wrists. Tips?

Rest on your forearm. Push your hips forward by engaging your glutes. Keep your body in a nice straight line. That's about it.

Yeah, I was thinking more about elevated side planks, where my arm is extended. I guess I'm just not sure at what angle my arm should be underneath my shoulder, and how much weight I should be putting on my feet because the pressure on my wrist is too much.

Me too! Side planks kill me, and not in the good "no pain. no gain" way. They hurt my wrists and if I do the modified version on my forearm, then they hurt my forearm. I don't understand where my feet are supposed to be either. Should they be on top of each other so that the bottom foot is absorbing most of the weight? Or should one be in front of the other? Should the soles of my feet be on the ground? Or should they be on the side of my foot?

I keep my feet stacked together, resting only on the edge of bottom foot. You might try more padding under your arm, or even a Bosu ball for more challenge.
