  • I'm 5'3"....well....I used to be..I think I shrunk...anyway.....I'm a LOT older than you, but my personal goal for my height is about 130 or so. However, because you are younger, your goal should be a bit less, but it also depends on your body frame. For example, are you petite, big boned, average build? I hope this helps.
  • Fill up on water and if you need something sweet, add Crystal Light to it. It will fill you up and satisfy your sweet tooth.
  • I've only made it once, but my step mother makes it and she bakes it just as nutshell does, but we put spaghetti sauce on it. My kids aren't too thrilled about it, which is why I only made it once, but it's SO good for you!
  • Guys naturally have a faster metabolism than women so it takes us women twice as long to lose the same amount of weight. I hate you. LOL j/k
  • I was thinking the same thing
  • That's what I was going to say!
  • Your post reminded me of my 19 yr old son today. He is in excellent shape and eats whatever and whenever he wants without gaining a pound. Today for lunch he went to Moe's (a mexican grill) and had a HUGE burrito and corn chips, then a couple of hours later he went to Chick Filet and ordered a spicy chicken sandwich AND a…
  • Well said!!
  • I TOTALLY agree with you!!
  • I agree with everyone else, the protein is set too low. I was told by a personal trainer to consume protein at every meal, including a protein shake as a meal replacement or snack. Of course this is only if you are doing any strength training. It helps with weight loss.
  • Stay away from ANYONE who is not supportive of your decision to get healthy. He obviously doesn't want you to look better...it might make him feel threatened. Surround yourself with people who can HELP and not hinder your weight loss.
  • Feel free to add me as a friend. You're right..we're all here for one reason, and that's to get healthy! Good luck on your journey!

  • I would be interested in what types of food this diet entails.
  • I wish I could induldge. A little just doesn't do it for me, so I just avoid it all together. The longer I avoid the bad food, the less tempted I am to eat it.
  • It's simple! Just burn more calories than you consume! Exercise and eat a balanced diet.
  • You're very welcome! Everyone has bad days, just remember not to dwell on it and move on. Tomorrow is another day, and you WILL do better. The power of positive thinking goes a long way. :flowerforyou:
  • There are LOTS of exercises to stretch out your back. One that I recently saw on the Dr. Oz show is to lay on your stomach, arms by your side, and lift at the waist, lowering your head so you're looking at the ground. Hold that pose for a few seconds and repeat. This is supposed to strengthen your lower back so you don't…
  • Hello Lissa, Congratulations on taking the step to a new you! It sure does help to have a support system, and this site offers that! Feel free to add me as a friend! Good luck!
  • I'm not sure I could eat broccoli for breakfast, but that's a smart thing to do when you know you are going to eat something later on that's high in fat and calories. Ahh..if we can all plan like that...................... Have fun!!!
  • I've always heard that creams and lotions do NOT work, but maybe they work in conjunction to water.....possibly. I know that water is good at keeping the complextion clear, and it helps rid the body of toxins, and keeps you full, and....I can go on and on. LOL I drink 3 or more liters of water a day and I haven't seen any…

  • The only exercise I know that uses gravity is by using what's called the TRX. They hang from the ceiling and you grip on the handles and extend out to exercise. I LOVE it!
  • Kids are brutally honest, but they're also great motivators!! I can't recall my kids ever saying anything like that when they were little, but if my 19 yr old son hears me saying how fat I am, he disagrees and tells me I don't need to lose any weight. I used to wish I could go on "The Biggest Loser" show and he'd tell me…
  • I buy Nature's Own sugar free bread and tastes great. It has 50 calories.
  • That sounds SO good....thanks for the recipe!! I don't buy instant coffee, but I will just to try it out. Thank you!
  • I can hula with a real hoop but when it comes to the Wii, I can't do it to save my life. LOL Have you ever used a weighted hoop? Now, that's a challenge! I did it once, but my back was killing me the next day. I work at an elementary school as a P.E. assistant and sometimes I get out the hoops for the kids and start going.…
  • Very true!!! Muscle weighs more than fat.....how about measuring yourself? I personally lose inches before losing weight.
  • The photos aren't there...can't get them up.
  • You would be surprised at how much sugar is in "100%" juice. There is no nutritional value in it, unless it is fresh squeezed.
  • Don't give up!! Studies show that exercise helps with staying focused and doing better academically. I work at an elementary school that has a "wellness" program. I teach one of the 5 P.E.'s that we have. The kids have P.E. every single day!!!! And do you know why??? It's because exercise releases endorphins in the brain…
  • That's very empowering..thanks for sharing.
