because if the weather holds out, I'm taking my son to the fair and we are for sure getting a funnel cake! Yummy! And I can probably stay w/in calories for the day pretty easily - especially if I wear my HRM, which I think I will cuz who knows how much we will walk!

During the week, for breakfast, I take to work: broccoli, carrots, cherry tomatoes, snap peas, and celery. Put it all in a baggie and pour in cajun seasoning, garlic seasoning, & seasoned black pepper, all salt free. Shake it up good and let the refrigerated veggies sweat for an hour at room temp. That, and a tall glass of ice water, is my breakfast. :o)

Enjoy the fair and your funnel cake! (I love funnel cake, lol)

Don't use the HRM on your fun day trip. Take a break. Just log the time as walking. Have fun.

Oh I want a funnel cake so bad. Here in the east you find more "Fried Dough" stands then funnel cake stands. Give me a funnel cake with barvarian cream topping and I am in heaven.

Have fun. I agree with DT dont wear your HRM let this be your day.

Ah, I don't necessarily wear it obsessively... well, yeah I do, but not in a detrimentally-obsessive, food-obsessed way. But, being a numbers person I love to know what various activities and things translate to. I would imagine 5 hours at the fair should be about... 1000 calories, meaning 500 extra. It'd be interesting to see if I've learned enough about myself to get things like this right w/out counting.

I also wore my HRM to a Green Day concert to see if just the atmosphere and bass got your heart rate up at all... it didn't :) It was interesting though. And PS - if anyone has the chance to see GD in concert - go. I was highly impressed, and working in the industry, it takes quite a bit to impress me at a concert!

I'm not sure I could eat broccoli for breakfast, but that's a smart thing to do when you know you are going to eat something later on that's high in fat and calories. Ahh..if we can all plan like that......................
    Have fun!!!

It was so much fun! :) I also learned that there are really not that many calories in cotton candy! Like, hardly any! (if you can spare the high sugar count.)

The funnel cake was so good too! All sugary and greasy! :) i looked at all the food I could have gotten that I love... chicken on a stick, chocolate dipped strawberries, burger and fries, lemonade, ice cream... now, it's really because I am cheap (read: poor) that I did not pig out on tons of junk, but also because I thought - I don't need to eat that.

I think it's nice to be able to go to the fair and eat some really awful food and not worry about it :) And I think, planning in advance of what that is going to be helps! You really enjoy it when you look forward to it all day, and it helps eliminate that extra impulse buying (well, other than the cotton candy!)

But, I did forget the HRM. :( Oh well. I just guestimated 400 extra cals from walking around for 5 hours which is probably on the low side.
