Thanks! AND it has pockets, clearly making it the superior choice here.

After reading all these 50/50 replies I don't feel so silly debating with myself about the dress so much! Update for anyone who cares: I don't even have the dress anymore, I returned it (it's super nice but it's really summery and I'm hoping to be a few sizes smaller next summer!) and bought this one on sale instead: And…

Um, can we be friends? I like boats :)

Haha seriously?! Now THERE'S a rule I dgaf about.

THANK YOU. Everyone I showed pictures of (but of me wearing the dress) were all 'You look fab! Hot dress!' And I was like 'Thanks but this is not the point of me asking' haha. I think the grey pattern made me go 'maybe?' but let's be real, it's a white dress at the end of the day. I need to ask MFP this stuff first instead…

Yeah you're right, debating over it this much means I should probably just nix it. It will be a super hot outdoor wedding so I don't want to add clothes, haha. Thanks for replying :)

I meant taking attention away in terms of us being the only two people in the room wearing white. And really it is a white dress mostly. But I totally agree with you, I don't want to feel awkward making a faux pas.
-
Haha that's the question though! If I will take attention away from the bride. Good thing I have several backup dresses, all with tags attached. Thanks for the replies thus far

what the hell is this ****?

My goal has become unclear the closer I get to it, I think. I am pretty happy with my body now most days and it feels kind of silly for me to have a 'clothing size' or a 'weight' goal now after all I've learned about fitness and weight loss. So for now, the most important goal for me now is really just to be in the best…

If I was at the gym and felt I couldn't use 5 different machines because someone was hopping around them like a rabbit on speed, it would become my business, personally. Unless of course it was in a dedicated circuit training area.
-
So much this! The clothing in my closet ranges from size 10 to size 16 and I'm fine with it because at the end of the day I shop for fit, not for numbers.

I failed art class in grade 12, went to re-take it in continuing ed. because it pissed me off so much, fell in love with it, went to art school, and graduated with a bachelor's degree in graphic design. Make of that what you will.

It's only gross if you know about it, amirite?

My body won't let me sleep if I try and go to bed when my stomach is crying out for food. Have a piece of toast with peanut butter if you don't want something heavy.

me too, but NOT at the gym!!

Anything soy is a 'no-no' for what?

I had the same concern when I felt some areas were more lumpy than others, and I went to get an ultrasound done. It came back clear, and it just turns out I have very fibrous breasts. Don't worry too much OP, but if it makes you feel better, definitely get your doc to check it out.

A million times no, to be honest.

Ermmm...WHAT taste?? Why are you eating so much Dr. Oetker in the first place though? That stuff is a notorious 'I'm too lazy to cook or to even go out to eat anything, oh wait there's a frozen pizza in the freezer..." food, go for the real stuff half as often and boom, problems solved!
-
No no no you trust me, you ARE looking to get "toned", even if you don't know it :P My 'blessed areas' are my hips and thighs too and instead of being all cellulite and jiggle like they were 50lbs ago, they are pretty defined and way more solid and less cellulite-ish because I focused on heavy weighted squats and deadlifts…

She really doesn't, and that's because she's subscribing to the same fantasy prototype woman that has been drilled into our retinas by modern media. Fancy that. Also there are different types of models for different audiences/purposes - runway models, haute couture, editorial, catalogue, plus size, alternative,…

I do understand that personal big deal. I answered as someone else who also set 'under 200 by x date' goals and failed to meet the deadline NUMEROUS times, feeling disappointed with myself and my lack of progress. And then when I did reach ONEderland (for the first time since probably 2003) on a totally random, unplanned…

*sigh* Why though? Like really ask yourself why hitting an arbitrary weight/time goal is vital to your happiness.

Same, except I was a big fan. Saw her perform in 2007, and was hoping to see her perform again when I was in the UK in spring of 2011 but didn't, she died that August. It upset me how her addiction made her a laughing stock, and the predictability/preventability of her death, just so sad and tragic.

I get them too. Look up jaw/facial/neck self-massages to relieve the tension there. Also I brought it up with my dentist, and lo and behold! Turns out I grind my teeth when I sleep during stressful times, which can lead to jaw/neck/head aches, so that's also a possible cause.

your friend sounds certifiable.

Spoon into jar, spoon into mouth, repeat. That stuff is ADDICTIVE! One positive is that it has a decent amount of protein from the eggs, haha.

No. Save that money for new clothes, shopping for smaller sizes is INFINITELY more fun than weighing yourself
