This.. I quit a little over 5 years ago. I got sick and wasn't able to smoke that day. I woke up the next day and thought if I can do it one day, let's try two.. I made it through!! From looking at your diary, i think you need to drink MORE water besides the fact that under 1200 calories is too low! I would say increase it a tad for a couple of weeks while drinking more water and see what happens! Our bodies need nourishment to get the best results!

Welcome! I am from Iowa too and I am a teacher!! I started in January and have lost 16 pounds so far.. it's coming off really slowly but I hear that means it'll stay off! I'd love to help keep you motivated!!

I LOVE to dance!!!!! I dance in the kitchen by myself, with my daughters, anyone who will dance with me! I LOVE IT!! I love to dance to Katy Perry, LMFAO, Lady Gaga, etc. so that I can move my body. I am only at 9 lbs lost but that's only since January 9.. so I am good with that!!

Ok, so I did all that - here it is and tell me what you make of it: 160 lbs - 1494 BMR, 669 activity, 2163 total..... my weight 242 - 1847 BMR, 827 activity, 2674 total - my goal weight total is more than my current BMR - so I should lower it to that right?

I need help to really understand this. My goal weight is 160 - I went to the site that you mentioned and typed everything in and it comes up with 2163 total calories. So this is what I should be eating each day to LOSE weight??? I am currently 242 lbs.

I know how you feel!! Last week i gained 4 lbs.. turned out that MFP had calculated my caloric intake wrong and I was eating 400 more calories a day than I should have been.. I weighed in this morning and I have lost 4 lbs.. so, you might want to recalculate your BMR and see what happens! Good luck!

:sad: I just recalculated my goals and whatdya know?? My calorie goal was set way too high!! NO wonder I didn't lose any weight this past week!!! Unfortunately, it's late in the afternoon and I only have 477 calories left for dinner! It's only one day right?? :)

I was also having the same problem and a good member on here told me that if I was new to exercising, my muscles were probably retaining water and glycogen in anticipation of the next workout. The body does this to ensure that it has enough energy for this "new" thing you are putting it through! Keep at it and you will see…

My daily calorie goal is set to 1970 in order to lose 1 lb a week per MFP. I am eating 300 calories below that plus exercising. I started 2 weeks ago with eating the "right" food and this is day 7 of P90x.. I would like to lose 76 lbs.
