  • Chipotle is my cheat meal. I have many different variations in my food database on MFP so i still know what im eating. I could never give that place up. It's just so good!
  • Polar is a popular brand. I use a Timex IronMan Road Trainer. It's Available on amazon for cheaper than Timex sells it for on there website. Here is a link if you are interested in taking a peek. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001GWWCJ8/ref=oss_product
  • Look into getting a weight gainer. 600+ calories in a single shake for a lot of them. Very high in protein. BSN and Cytosport make some of the better tasting shakes that i have tried. But there are many out there.
  • Drink more water. When i first started back in July i struggled for the first few weeks. I went from eating 3000+ calories a day to 1800. It was a total system shock. My body was confused that it wasn't getting all the calories it was used too. I started drinking 20 oz. of water after every meal and it dramatically helped…
  • It could be genetics. I have a friend who is quite thin, not unhealthy thin, but defiantly not overweight. She always has little love handles that she just cant get rid of. Her mom is exactly the same.
  • When i started getting close to my goal weight that started happening to me to. But each week in the mirror i could see the fat was less and less. So i don't let the scale worry me to much. As hard as i hit the weights i would be worried if i continued to loose weight each week constantly.
  • I hurt my hip flexor. Had to take 2 full days off before i could even think about cardio. You might want to consider taking a few days and see how it feels. I understand your desire to not miss workouts but if you try to soldier through you may only make the injury worse and hurt your progress even further. You might have…
  • I have a Timex Iron man Road Trainer HRM. It gives me calories burned, time for the workout, max HR, min HR, Average HR, Time in Zone (1 - 5 selected by the user), and recovery after you hit stop. I have posted about my HRM a few times and i strongly believe in it. Ever since i started useing it my diet has been much…
  • Check your running shoes. I had pain in that same area for awhile. I bought a new pair of running shoes and it went away. My old ones were worn out completely. Went from one pair of Nike Shox to another, so it wasn't the style that was hurting my legs.
  • 1600. 8 mile run in 1 hour.
  • ABB makes pre-workouts. Speed stack and Ripped stack both gave me intense energy for the gym for a good 90 to 120 minutes. With no real Crash. But so far my favorite is 1.M.R. (One More Rep) by BPi. It's a powder you can mix in a small glass with a spoon. I take it in the locker room just before i start my warm up. Within…
  • Amazon sells a great timex HRM that tracks calories for $79 with free standard shipping. Timex sells the same monitor for 110 on there website. My brother and I both got our monitors from there.
  • Look into protein supplements. BSN makes a product called Syntha-6. The Vanilla Ice Cream flavor is fantastic! 200 calories, 22 grams of protein.

  • Protein sup. Are a great tool for building muscle and strength. They are not a waste of money and can be quite affordable. Costco sells a 6 pound bag of 100% Whey for 30 bucks. Some supplements are not for casual training routines. Your local nutrition store can lead you in the tight direction if you ask the right…
  • I just use the calories I burn doing weight training as a buffer. If i should happen to get close to running out of calories i know i have a few unaccounted for calories to fall back on. May not know how much so i try not to run over, but I know they are there.
  • HRM are a great investment. My brother and I both got Timex Iron man Road Trainers. An excellent tool to know what your burning so you can adjust your intake accordingly. Not to mention the sweet deal we got. Bought them off of amazon for $80 bucks with free 2-day shipping. Timex sells the same monitor for $110 + Shipping.…

  • BUMP is something you do if you feel a topic is important for people to read. It "Bumps" it back to the top of it's respective thread and also places back on "Recent Posts" section.
  • Very noticeable change. Good job, keep it up and you will make your goal. I'm currently 8 pounds away from my goal weight. Been at MFP for 70 days now and have lost 32 pounds.
  • Awesome! My twin brother and I started MFP together. We were basically the same way. Tired of being fat. It's astonishing how many calories some of the foods we used to eat contain. I used to eat 3 Beefy 5-layer burritos from taco bell, found out thats 2100 calories in a single meal. Keep up the good work!
  • I weigh myself multiple times throughout the day. It's interesting to see how my weight fluctuates throughout the day with the intake of food and water. My "official" weigh in day is Wednesday mornings. Sometimes Thursday if i ate more than usual on Tuesday :)
  • It all depends on you and your needs. As little as 20 minutes of cardio a few times a week is a great way to maintain a healthy heart. I personally do an hour of cardio 4 to 5 times a week. If I'm not sweating and breathing hard i feel like i waste my time at the gym. I also do 4 to 5 strength training sessions a week.…
  • Avocado is a high calorie healthy snack. They are packed with lots of good stuff nutrition wise.
  • LIPOREXALL. They are working for me. I'm losing weight considerably fast than I did the last time I started a diet and exercise regiment. I mainly got them for a boost when I go to the gym. Dieting causes my energy to tank after work. So the pills give me the boost I need to get the workout done. I used to drink coffee but…
  • Great work. I imagine keeping up with the children is a breeze now :)
  • Strawberries sprinkled with Truvia. Soothes the sweet tooth and is a healthy snack.
  • My weight fluctuates continually. I jump on the scale a few times a day. I understand that what i eat and drink can change my weight so i do it to simply get an idea of where my weight hovers. For instance, as of this week my weight never gets above 200 lbs even with a large meal or water intake. I may "gain" 3 lbs or so…
  • I believe this has been covered elsewhere. Due to differences in weight and Set x Reps and the overall intensity of your workout the amount of calories you burn is different for everyone and even every workout.
  • The water tip works. When i first started this site i had the same problem. I would be insanely hungry after reaching my calorie allotment. I would drink 10 to 20 oz of water after a meal and that would help satiate my hunger. It takes a few weeks for your body to adjust to not getting all the calories it wants (or got…
  • How much rest are they incorporating into their routines? If they lift everyday they are not going to see any results. They need to understand the importance of letting your body rebuild itself. Also, they may need to "cut." Basically, they take a month or so off from lifting and then get back to the routine. This also…
