Because, personally, when I would drink, my motivation goes by the wayside and I then don't work out and drink instead. Like I said, I am no expert, just giving my opinion.

I am not an expert by no means, but in the running world there are actual races that include downing a beer for every mile or kilometer of a race. Not to mention softball players play drunk all the time. With that being said, it's pretty counter productive.

Bum sweat is indeed crappy! Especially after it drops down the crack of your bum and creates the swamp bum effect that requires you to wash your clothes numerous times to remove the stench.

I echo the sentiments about the Garmin Forerunner Series. I have the 305 as well and it's worth its weight in gold. Check out REI, I got mine there for cheaper than anywhere else I have seen.
