  • I used mfp a few years ago and did well, plus i was learning to run with c25k....i loved it and lost about 40# but i hurt my foot and it got really hot so i started to slid but i have kept 15# off but the rest has found me....but i am back and determined to lose it for good this time. I am 37 and have pcos but luckily i do…
  • I got my insulin test back. It went down from 30.0 to 20.1 in 3 months but that was with a lot of cartio and 33 lbs lost. I take 500 mg 2 x a day and dr said that was good for now. She wants insulin under 15 and wants me back in 6 mo this time. Woo hoo. Now I need to get myself back into running. I have backed off since I…
  • My dr put me on 1000mg to start with and wants me to re test in 3 months. I have lost 32 lbs since then so I am hoping with both weight loss and met I will see a difference. I will find out on Oct 24. My insulin was 30. Ugg...she said she might need to increase the met... I will try to remember to find this post to update…
  • Don't eat any white sugar...plain or baked into anything for a while and match any carbs you eat up with protien..even if it is a spoon full of pb. Also you have to work on finding what triggers the issues. I love morning coffee with 1/2 n 1/2 and sugar but I figured out I can't have the cream so I use 1% milk and light…
  • Oh and we use an electric knife to cut it really thin, about 1/2 inch. 16 pieces to a loaf makes it 73 yummy calories a slice.
  • I have pcos and don't like to eat 'extras' in my bread so I made my own. Do you have a large mixer like a Kitchen Aid? I use it for the kneading. I use 2 bread loaf pans but you could use one cast iron pan if you wanted it to turn out like the picture. You don't need the lid or a special oven only a large mixer and 3…
  • There is a very wide range of cinnamon that we use as a spice. Most of it is not real cinnamon but the bark of another tree that taste like it but is a little different colored and much cheaper. That could be the reason for the difference in your bodies reaction to is. I use the cheap stuff in crafts but like the real…
  • Sorry to hear about all of your stress. I know where you are coming from. I have had pcos since I was 21 or maybe before???? But we didn't decide to have kids for a few more years. I went off bc and got pg with my first baby ASAP. I was about 220 and had just dropped 10#. The trouble started with #2. He took 5 years, 2…
  • I just started taking met again 2 weeks ago. I am still feeling the tummy issues. But I am loosing weight so I can live with it for now. I think met and running 3-4 miles every other day is helping. Do you know what ur insulin level is? U should keep your glucose under 99 and insulin under 25, but doc told me lower is…
  • I am IR also and just seen a new dr today and she gave me metformin right away. She wants me to take 500mg x2 per day. I have been working with mfp and running couch 2 5k for the past 7 weeks and I have been able to loose 12 lbs. she told me metformin will help loose more. She also suggested to take fish oil and multi vit.…

  • I like to take a water bottle with me full of Poweraid Zero... I know it has fake sugar in it but I like the 0 calories and it tastes sweet after being in the hot sun....we only drink it after working out, fishing or mowing the yard to help recover. Plus about 4 glasses of water. I run at night and it is hot in Indiana…
  • Thanks for the help. My shoes(asics) r new and fit great and I only run in my Nike running socks... Love them but need to find more. I only put a small piece of tape on the bottom of my toe pads before running because the skin on my feet have cracked twice. They are healed now so I do it to prevent it from happening again.…

  • Hey thanks for the suggestion. My son goes to school with a kid that's parents are both pharmastist and runners... Don't know why I didn't think of asking them. I will post their suggestions the next time I see them at church or school.

  • I tried c25k with my 8.5 yr old but he would run to fast in front of mr and loose interest very quickly so it didn't work but now we know he doesn't want to do cross country like he thought. I have been running when hubby can watch both kids but yesterday my oldest finally learned to ride his bike without trainers so he…

  • Thank you everyone for your help and support. I think I am going to finish out the c25k program and use the free run log after that to keep trying to add an extra 1/2 mile to my run every week for a while and just take it as it comes. I never thought I would like to run let alone love it like I do but I am IR and 269# so I…
  • I tend to day dream about how good I will look in the future and how old friends I haven't seen in a long time will react. I count my steps in sets of 4, remember my dad and how he passed away at 51 and was diabetic by 30 something but didn't treat it till he was 41. I will not end up diabetic. I think about my kids and…

I just have to find time in the day to run when hubby is home to watch our 2 year old. I have never been a runner but have always wanted to…
