What is with that?? Some of these women just have these ridiculous stripper fakes and I just don't understand. I think a natural look is much more attractive.

McDonald's, for sure. I love that place. It's actually not that damaging to me calorie wise- my meals are usually about 500 calories there. But from a nutritional standpoint, not so great. I also have a weakness for baked Cheetos, jimmy johns, salt and vinegar chips, hot tamales, twizzlers, and brownies.

I sort of know what the OP meant. I have big thigh muscles and I don't like how they stick out. But it's a trade off- I can have fat legs or I can have muscled legs. Short of starvation, I'll probably never get the super lean legs I really want. I don't know how to post a pic here, but I added to my profile.

I spent many a friday night in my early 20s closing the bar then convincing whoever was driving to hit up the taco bell for nachos bell grande. I can't think of a worse drunk food than that. It wasn't very healthy, but boy, was it fun.

Mine was actually in the locker room. I had just finished a particularly challenging workout and was flexing in the mirror (thought it was empty) and doing a full on routine checking myself out. Out of the corner of my eye, I see a woman behind me just laughing her *kitten* off. There was really nothing I could do to cover…

I'll not speak of any science or studies and just go with my own experiences, since I can back them up. When I first joined myfitnesspal, there were lots of posts about the evils of sugars in fruit, and how they should be avoided. One diet book suggested a maximum of two strawberries a day or two SECTIONS of an orange. I…

I gained 35 pounds while pregnant, and had a 6 pound baby, and maybe 10-15 pounds of fluid. So, I gained around 15-20 pounds of pure fat- mainly due to the 4-6 bowls of cereal I ate every day. I was so dumb, since I have stayed at the same weight (give or take 5 pounds) from ages 15-27, I just assumed I could eat whatever…

I've always carried extra weight in my gut. I could get down to a BMI of underweight and still have a pooch. But I have found (along with diet and regular exercise) that push ups really helped tighten the area. Also, something to keep in mind- you're not even 6 months post partum yet. My stomach was distended for quite…

I wouldn't say every day, but several times a week, no doubt. I have been really good about bringing lunches and breakfasts from home to work, but dinner is hard. Husband and I probably order pizza at least once a week, and he gets Chinese food probably once a week, and sometimes I have some of his fried rice. I've also…

I think it's pretty expensive to eat healthy. You could buy chips, crackers, helper meal foods, etc. at the dollar store. Meat and fresh produce gets really expensive, especially if you eat a lot of it. My grocery bill has more than doubled since I've been on a mission to make dinners and eat more vegetables (although, on…

I love cereal. I'll eat almost any kind. That being said, I find that most pack quite the caloric punch, even the "healthy" ones. If your goal is minimize calories, I'd skip cereal altogether. Most nutrition labels are for 3/4 cup, and some are only 1/2 a cup. Who eats half a cup of cereal? Would that even fill the bottom…

My lunches are usually one item of protein, plus fruits and vegetables. I like bread, but it's not worth the calories for me. I'd rather eat other stuff, so I tend to avoid sandwiches. Usually, on Sundays, I'll cook 3-4 chicken breasts at once, and bag them individually. I do the same for turkey patties. 1-2 days a week…

I wouldn't say "devastating" but underestimating calorie content is sort of what got most of us here in the first place. Plus, say you order a grilled chicken sandwich, and due to all the mayo or dressing they added, you've lost 100 calories when you would have been just fine with half the amount they normally use. You…

I had a hamburger from McDonalds yesterday. I also had one on Sunday. Before that, it was probably about 2 weeks that I ate at McDonalds. I also had a chili from Wendy's last week, and another one a week before that. And I had a slice of pizza last week too.

I decided to start myfitnesspal in the middle of the day, so for the first half, I hadn't been trying to cut calories. I was pretty shocked by how many calories are in so called healthy foods (cereal, I'm looking at you). So, what I did for about 3-5 months is just eat the same things I always ate, but scaled way back. So,…

I take it as someone who's not necessarily trying to decrease their weight or reduce the overall mass of their body, but rather is trying to firm themselves up. You can be thin and at a healthy BMI and still have lots of jiggly fat.

I absolutely love that picture

Yes, I just find it easier. Plus, I'm a picky eater. Things I eat every day: Breakfast sandwich from Kellogs, ham and egg flatbread Raw snap peas, carrots, cherry tomatoes A small amount of dark chocolate Things I eat most days: sweet potato strawberries, apples, peaches, pineapple (I vary these a bit, but I have at least…

Ha, I remember last year husband and I went to the gym, and someone had left like, every plate in the joint on whatever piece of equipment I wanted to use (don't remember what it was. I don't think it was the weight bench, may have been the squat machine). I stomped over to husband and was like, can you help me move the…

I usually bring a gallon size ziplock bag with carrots, snap peas, cherry tomatoes, and bell pepper slices, and anything else I might think of to throw in there. I also usually have an apple, a peach, or cut up strawberries. Sometimes I have almonds and peanuts, but I don't really like them that much. I also keep a bag of…

So, from what I understand, you miss jogging, but feel like in order to have energy to jog, you need to eat more? If jogging is something you enjoy doing, and you need to increase your calories in order to have the energy, then by all means, I say do it. If you're merely wondering if the increased calories + increased…

I'll not share what my first 5K time was, but I'll tell you- it was longer than 36 min. My friend ran the entire time (I walked partway) and I think her time was even a little over 36 min. If I ran the whole thing without stopping to walk, I wouldn't care what my time was. I am a terrible runner though.

So, you're not looking to lose any more weight? Or are you? I am not sure what you mean by ugly thighs. Are your legs thicker than what you want, or just jiggly? In addition to squats and lunges, something that helped me was walking (not running) on a treadmill at a very steep incline. My legs didn't get any smaller, per…

Yeah, I wish I could have those 10.5 hours back every day. Unfortunately, my daughter is super demanding and expects to be fed and clothed every day and live somewhere with a roof over her head so I have to work. Thanks for the extra kick to the gut though. I guess you can find sanctimonious people bashing working mothers…

I do that too!! (Squats and lunges in the handicapped stall). That's funny someone else does that.

It's pretty dated, but the following always get me moving- Machinehead by Bush, Until It Sleeps by Metallica, The Zoo by the Scorpions, Kickstart My Heart by Motley Crue. Until It Sleeps in particular makes me feel like a badass.

I agree. I find cardio much more boring than lifting, but lifting is intimidating. Particularly in a public setting when you're new to the concept. I don't like lifting at my gym unless my husband is with me (ostensibly 'spotting', but really blocking me from other people. I get way self conscious).

I agree with the other posters that seeing muscle definition is going to involve removing fat via diet, but something that might help you- all my weight tends to centralize in my gut, just like a guy. I can have skinny arms and a gaunt face, and I'll still have a roll around my middle. When I started doing push ups, I was…

Well, now we are talking about two different things. Are we saying some people can eat 2,500 hundred calories while sedentary and not gain weight, or someone can eat 2,500 calories a day while sedentary and not be overweight? Because the two are vastly different. From a BMI standpoint, I could gain 20 pounds and still be…

What do you mean by naturally thin? Do you mean that some people eat everything in moderation and stay fit? Because I don't think anyone is arguing that. What people are arguing is the existence of people who are, by some genetic lottery, bound to stay at a certain level of body fat, and no amount of dieting or overeating…
