The Fitbit calorie adjustment is the difference between what MFP guesses to be your TDEE (based on how active you've told it you are) and your TDEE from Fitbit (based on how active you've actually been). For example, if your MFP TDEE is 2000 calories and at the end of the day Fitbit is saying that you've burnt 3000…

Thanks for the replies. Much appreciated. I emailed support and this was their response - "Thank you for contacting us regarding your Apple Watch integration. At this time we are currently only reading the step data, and individual "other" workouts sent from the watch via what transfers directly from Healthkit. We are not…

To add to the mystery, looking at the Apple Health app I have Active Energy showing as 940 and Resting Energy of 2384 which adds up to 3324. So why is the Health App sending a burn of 2780 to MFP??

I'm having the same issue having just gotten an Apple Watch. On the Activity app I'm showing a total of 3,324 calories burnt for the day (12,345 steps). Clicking on the MFP calorie adjustment I'm getting MFP iOS calories burned as 2,780 and an adjustment of 282. So which is it, 3,324 or 2,780? For reference FitBit has a…

Protein shakes are a good way of getting extra protein IF you're not getting enough from your diet. They are also a good way of feeling fuller for longer on relatively few calories because, calorie for calorie, protein is more satiating than fat & carbs (although I prefer adding protein powder to food like porridge etc...)…

I use a Polar HRM with Endomondo to track my strength training. Results on my Tanita body composition scales suggest that the reported calorie burn is about right. Really though it doesn't matter if you're not eating your calories back - as long as the method you're using is consistent you're still tracking your progress.

Tbh I doubt it - tracking steps is really it's main purpose.

For that many steps, no. That seems low to me but I'm a 15 stone male.

Seriously, don't get stressed out about it and even more seriously - you're really over thinking this. The FitBit adjustment is increased accuracy - you might not like it but it's just a reflection of reality. If you're worried about over eating just don't eat them on the day and save up anything you earn on FitBit for…

You're clearly frustrated from trying everything and nothing working, but you just need to pick something, stick with it and try not to over think it. As you're wearing a FitBit so you'll pretty accurately know how many calories that you're 'burning' on any given day, just make sure that you eat less than that amount and…
