  • 8.8 pounds is great! Shoot, any loss is great! I started on MFP back in the middle of January and am coming up on the 150 day mark. I started at 279 and am a few inches shorter than you so you can imagine. So far I have lost 57 lbs. I can't say it's been easy but it sounds like you've realized what the keys to success are…
  • Like others have said, make sure the cake is completely cooled. Putting a thin layer to catch the crumbs will really help. Once you have that layer on, put it in the fridge for 30 mins to let it set then put on the top layer. Good luck!
  • I made it about a week... some of their meal recipes are quite tasty but I had a hard time with the shakes and bars. I don't really think it's meant to be a long term plan but it may be able to help you get started. Good luck!
  • I've lost almost 23 pounds in 6 weeks, which is almost twice my goal loss of 2 lbs per week. The first week I lost 7 lbs, most of which was probably fluid loss. The rest I attribute to a huge increase in activity and just controlling my portions. I hope to keep going strong and losing at least 2 lbs per week. Remember that…
  • A loss of 2 lbs a week is reasonable and while not always easy, can be attained. Since there are 52 weeks in a year, you would lose over 100 if you lost those 2 lbs a week! :) I've seen some success stories that keep me inspired. Set your goal to 2 lbs a week, stay within your calories, find what works for you and when you…
  • hmmmm I think I'll go check out the Mission Valley location...
  • While I haven't put too much thought into women being ripped I must say I like my men with a little cushion. I do appreciate big strong arms and legs but six packs kinda creep me out. lol If thats you're thing more power to you, go get it!
  • I recently tried spaghetti squash for the first time and fell in love! Thanks for this recipe!
  • I taught myself to cook a long time ago. My mom mostly made pre-packaged meals and by the time we were in High School I pretty much cooked for myself. Now I'm adjusting how I cook to keep the calories down and am learning how to prepare veggies I've never worked with. Recipe sites and cook books are good places to start.…
  • When I lost my first 10 pounds MFP suggested that I change my calorie goals and directed me to change them. So not quite automatic but almost.
  • I love to add spinach to my omlettes! I've also sauteed it with other veggies and tossed with shrimp and a laughing cow wedge for a creamy primavera type dish. www.allrecipes.com is my go to site for all types of recipes.
  • You're not alone! I'm currently at 268 lbs and have been netting between 1200-1400 calories per day. MFP set my calorie goal to 1390 to loose 2 lbs per week. I'm finally getting used to it and finding low cal foods that keep me full (and satisfy my sweet tooth). I've lost 11 in the first two weeks.
  • WTG!! That's awesome!
  • Peanut Butter! How I miss PB! Just 2 tablespoons is 200 calories. You may even be able to make it at home or if there is a Whole Foods nearby they have grinders where you can make it fresh. Other nuts and nut butters also give you healthy fats, protein and calories. Maybe try greek yogurt too? Good Luck!
  • I didn't start until 1/18 and have lost 11 lbs in my first 2 weeks! I think my body is ready to let go of all this extra me and wanted to get off to a good start lol. Great job to everyone! Here's to an amazing February!
  • Level 1 Day 4 and I am still loving it! Had to take a break after the first day cause my thighs were so sore but that went away now. Still struggling through the cardio but getting there!
  • I started on Saturday but my inner thighs were so sore I couldn't do it yesterday lol. Today was a tiny bit easier but I can't manage to do all of the cardio just yet but I keep moving the whole time. I'm hoping by the end of the week I can do the whole thing. I do feel great afterwards!
  • If your city has farmers markets you should check them out! Seeing the fresh veggies always inspires me to try things I wouldn't normally have considered. I recently took a liking to kale which is fantastic sauteed with olive oil and garlic. Even my picky sister likes it. Another always awesome veggie that can taste like a…
  • Of course you have to use caution and good judgment but I found the apartment I live in now on CL. I would never send money without seeing a place or even go to look at a place alone. Like the others have said, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
  • I haven't been logging my vitamins but that's a great idea! I forget to take them more often then I remember to.
  • I could never wait till I reach my goal to buy clothes! One thing I've always wanted to do is ride a horse so that will be one of my rewards.
  • San Diego here too!
  • Way to go! It's only my 5th day on MFP and this is the first time I've ever tracked calories. I started at 279 (ack!) and am both nervous and excited about weighing in after the first week. Since I'm just starting on this site I don't have any friends yet but would love to join your and the the BFF's support team if you'd…
