Anyone losing MORE than what MFP says you should lose?

For instance, according to MFP if I follow the calorie guidelines then I should lose .9 lbs per week. But when I looked at my weight loss records, I noticed that I was losing 1.8 lbs per week (11 lbs in 6 weeks).

Anyone else losing more weight than MFP suggests? Not that this is a bad thing but I am just curious if MFP is generally pretty accurate with predicting how much weight loss you should expect.

I've been doing this for 2 weeks and the first week I lost 5 pounds and the second week looks like it will end with a 3 pound loss. I had my settings set to lose 1 lb per week. I believe that the reason this is happening (at least in my case) is that I selected sedentary as my fitness level since I have a desk job, but in reality when I'm not at work I'm not just sitting on my butt the whole time. Perhaps if I logged every little activity I did things would be more accurately portrayed but I'm not really wanting to do that. Personally I am more than happy to lose more than 1 lb a week since it really offers me the extra motivation I need in the beginning.

I usually do. I've set mine so I loose 2 pounds a week. I've been doing it for 2 months and have lost 32 pounds! So around 4 pounds a week.
  • I've lost almost 23 pounds in 6 weeks, which is almost twice my goal loss of 2 lbs per week. The first week I lost 7 lbs, most of which was probably fluid loss. The rest I attribute to a huge increase in activity and just controlling my portions. I hope to keep going strong and losing at least 2 lbs per week. Remember that every body is different and MFP can't predict exactly how your body will react, only give general guidelines. Best of luck to you on this journey! :)

I've lost 22 lbs in 13 weeks, for an average of 1.7 lbs when my goal is 1 lbs/week. I figured it was because I underestimated my activity level (sedentary, lightly active, etc.). Or because the formulas are based on averages, and I'm above average!
