I can't say I agree with some of the posts here, for one thing you NEVER stop worrying about your children no matter how old they are! If her child had a drug problem would you still say leave her be, let her figure it out for herself etc? Food is an addiction and it can kill you or cause serious health issues. I do not…

I believe you can almost any food in moderation. I was told by my nutritionist to keep fruit down to 4 servings a day and try to eat the fruit with the most fiber Apples Avocado Bananas Berries -- Blueberies, Blackberries, Raspberries, etc. Dried Fruits -- Figs, Raisins, Apricots, Dates, etc. Guava Kiwi Orange Pears Prunes

update on my plantars fasciitis. I went to an orthopedic doctor, he confirmed what I already knew spent $35.00 copay for 10 minutes of his time and he gave me a printout of exercises (that I am already doing) he offered to give me a cortisone injection but I want to try to heal this as naturally as possible (although I…

That's not typical of plantar fasciitis, so keep open the possibility that you may have a different issue, such as compression of a foot nerve, for example: Fat pad syndrome can cause heel pain too. There's a full list of the causes of heel pain on this page. A podiatrist or ortho is needed to diagnose some of those.…

I am going to see an orthopedic dr. The earliest appt. I could get in next week in November, so in the meantime I was gathering information and ideas on how to alleviate the pain. Thank you to all who have taken the time to share their experiences and give some tips on exercise, supports and types of shoes. I do appreciate…

seriously you crack me up! You have such a great sense of humor. Every day is a chance to make an improvement, if only just a small one. One choice at a time...for me it's getting more exercise in and not snacking so much after dinner, my weakest part of my day. oh and please find a non-murderous park to walk in!! and post…

go to your local library or online and research nutrition. You might benefit from having three well balanced meals a day and a small treat in between until you can pare down the sugar addiction. Try substituting fruit for processed sugar. Eat a good fat, protein and a good carb at every meal. Stay with a calorie limit as…

I think it is possible to lose weight only eating 800 calories a day but I am not sure that is the long term solution. I think calorie reduction, with portion control and exercising is a more long term solution. At least this is what worked for me and I never ate below 1200 calories. I eat what I consider 'normal' food,…

MFP seems to set everyone at 1200, many will say that is too low. I followed 1200, and ate back my exercise calories on workout days for 1 year. I lost 40 lbs, that is what worked for ME. Everyone is different you will have to find what works for you. Good luck, add me as a friend if you want

fruit, eggs, string cheese, yogurt, nuts, peanut butter on celery, granola bars in a pinch, dark chocolate when I get the sugar urge, tea of all kinds.

I went from 194 down to 155 and I seem to have settled at that weight, I can give myself a two lb edge, if I see the scale creeping towards 158 I make sure to get back on track before the weight goes on again. I think a normal fluctuation of 1-5 lbs is what most people see.

you are cute, but I think that would make me a cougar!

my daughter just gave up sugar for 10 days only allowing for fruit and some creamer in her coffee. She said she had terrible headaches and no energy for the first 5 days but it got better over time. Good luck!

I too go over my sugar intake often, I don't worry about too much as most of my sugar is coming from fruit. A banana usually puts me over. Just use this as a guideline and try to make sure the sugar isn't from processed foods or sugary drinks.

awesome! It's so hard to be surrounded by food and pass it up in favor of something more healthy but in the long run you are the winner!

welcome..it's a great site for support and knowledge.

sounds intriguing since I love pad thai!

some men are intimidated when their wives start to lose weight, I say ignore this behavior as much as possible. You cannot make someone 'diet' if they don't want to. cook healthy family meals, eat what you need to eat to be healty and lose weight. So many times we ignore what is best for us as women (and sorry I don't…
