I get horrible palpitations if I do eat sugar or white carbs. I've read that many others who are hypo or have Hashi's as I do suffer the same problem. There are so many things linked to being hypothyroid like hypoglycaemia and oestrogen dominance.

I've just been recently diagnosed as well, about a month ago. Looking back, I'm pretty sure I've had symptoms since my early teens. I'm 5ft 5 and have lost 22lbs so far. I started at 194lbs. I still have about 30lbs to lose till my goal of 140lbs. I'm happy for anyone to add me so we can lose this weight together.

Welcome to mfp! I am from the UK as well. I started mfp weighing 194lbs although I weighed over 200lbs when I started trying to lose weight. I now weigh 172lbs (ish) so it really does work :) My goal is also 140lbs so feel free to add me if you'd like some support.

Scrambled egg and a large helping of 2 or 3 different veggies with a bit of gravy on top.

I try to eat this way and I feel much better when I do, lots more energy but I slip up with cakes sometimes :) I need to get some good coconut flour recipes instead. I learnt about this way of eating when I started Intermittent Fasting.

For Intermittent fasting have a look at www.leangains.com and www.rippedbody.jp I now eat between 1pm and 8pm and have gone from being a chronic night time nibbler to being in control and being able to say no most of the time. Oh and it's FREE!

I do Intermittent Fasting, does that count? It's great and has really helped me to stop bingeing.

Have a quick search via google before you see your Endo. It's very interesting reading and once you've read about him that will lead you on to other info regarding your thyroid. Rachael x

You could just be honest and tell them that you really want to eat healthy food and that going to the cafeteria or such like is just too tempting for you. Good luck and well done for making that lifestyle change even though it must have been hard to leave a group of friends behind. Rachael x

You've made great progress! Well done. I think I am an undiagonosed hypo as various symptoms that I have had for almost 20 years have lead me to believe. Have you heard of Dr Brownstein regarding your thyroid?
