I usually have a frozen dinner... Lean Cuisine, Smart Ones, etc. They are often around the 230 - 300 cal range and have anywhere from 13 - 20 g protein. (My favs are Thai Peanut Chicken and Spicy Szechuan) I often will cook 5 chicken breasts on Sunday and then take an extra breast with me each day, cutting up the chicken…

@cheers2012. Thank you so very much for these kind words! I am trying so hard to set the right example for my kids - active is great! Healthy living IS fun! I want it to be their normal ☺

:smooched: you rock for the regular bumps!
-
-
Nope. For the life of me, I couldn't find a workaround.

Bumping

Note: this doesn't appear to make a darn bit of difference for new people. You can see their wall, but still cannot interact with it! Sorry!
-
Apparently not! Thank God I'm a tester by trade! haha
-
Note... Please reply so this gets into the home page. So many people are complaining but it's an easy workaround!

@teresamarie46 A LOT of women love the book New Rules of Lifting for Women. It covers a lot of information and can help you get started. If you have the funds, another option is to get some help from a personal trainer. If you don't, google and youtube are also great sources for tips on proper form and mechanics. There is…

I typically weigh first thing in the morning... and sometimes again after a particularly satisfying bathroom break. hehe I'm a daily weigher (usually), but I don't freak out too much about a pound up/down. My weight bounces around like CRAAAAAZY. So I'm looking for downward or upward trends.

I have an 8 year old who has focus issues. The biggest thing is to have patience and keep teaching them. For my 8 year old, I need to remove all distractions - no tv, no toys, nothing on the table (and that still doesn't always help). Strangely enough, if I have classical music playing, she focuses better. It seems that…

I agree with you. Nothing is an exact science, so my approach is to lean towards a slight overestimate on calories consumed and a slight underestimate on calories burned. If I'm trying to lose weight, and I am, then I'm pretty confident that I'm doing ok. If I'm not losing weight, and I'm staying on track with my goal…

You're awesome! Thanks for the love! ❤

@WeekendWarriorTX My 10 year old daughter got a hold of this one and really liked it. We spent a good deal of time talking about how what he did was dirty, but what she did in response was illegal, and could possibly involve jail time due to the amount of damage. Then we talked about how it might make you feel better in the…

maybe it's a rush of adrenaline from the price tag?

Unless you are set at maintenance, my fitness pal calculates a deficit for you and that deficit is reflected in your daily calorie goal. If you exercise, those calories would make the deficit greater because you've burned more, and therefore if you want to keep the rate of loss consistent, you can eat those exercise…

don't know if this helps... but I am 6'1" and am currently 165-168ish pounds This is what I look like at that weight. Not saying you'd look like me at the same weight, but I think it's safe to say that 185 is not dangerously thin. It's hard for your friends / family to picture you as anything but what you are now. They'll…

Hotline Bling by Drake. Gee man, I'm sorry that you didn't have time for her and now she's off doing other stuff, getting into shape, and is no longer your call girl. Poor you. Stalker.

I realize this is a necro thread... but I've learned that I do not eat salad gracefully. And if I'm going out to eat, I'm going to get what I want. If my eating habits gross out my date, well, then, they may as well run now. Saves us all time. haha

I love it! Thank YOU!

Wii Zumba :-D Love it!

@juggernaut1974 Thanks to this statement right here... I have now been measuring my chicken in terms of paperclips. Truth. I had a bite left over (gristle) and I thought... hmmmm... I wonder how many paperclips that would weigh.

just weighing in here... hehe pun intended I am one of those unicorns that does a blend. I weigh some stuff and guesstimate others. I have set my activity level to sedentary and I'm not sedentary, so I know I get some extra cals there. I will grab a bag of gala apples and take one in my lunch every day. I pick "medium"…
-
yes you do. everyone does - they're the body's natural filtration system. ;)

It probably happened gradually. Small daily choices that allowed the weight to creep on. But the good news... you can make small daily choices that will cause it to leave too. Choose today to do something a little different, a little better. Every positive choice you make will add up.

Congrats on the loss to date! Please keep in mind, though, that weight loss is not linear. Your body adapts, and the rapid loss can stall. What happens when you go two weeks and lose nothing? Will you keep up with it or get discouraged? When you have a lot to lose, the first bit can (and often does) come off quickly. As…

http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/1343719/get-rich-quick/p1 I really want to see you succeed in this, and like the others, strongly encourage you to adjust your expectations. I know you hate the extra weight and the emotions that go along with it are painful. The need to rid yourself of the weight (and the…

A male eating 1200 cals? That's way too low, IMO. I don't have my macros in line with the goals... All my weight loss (not a lot of pounds, but rather the pesky "last 20") came from counting calories. I never measured or understood how calories worked or the breakdowns. It wasn't until I started logging that I started…

@EddieHaskell97 Thank you so much! I totally think there is a place for agile - particularly when new development is concerned, and even more so when the customer "isn't quite sure" how they want it to look or feel. I've been in a project where we spent so much time gathering requirements and then designing and testing a…
