  • Oh and my progesterone is on the low normal side, so my doctor's having me take a supplement. She said it will probably make me more tire and nauseous, so take it at night. Gee, thanks. :/
  • Hi, I'm Amy, and I too am due August 29th! I found out over Christmas so we wrapped little stockings and had our four year old give our parents the gifts at Christmas. When they opened the package and asked what it was for, Kaiden told them he was going to be a big brother! He's so excited. We've told our close friends,…

  • If you love to dance and love music, you'll love Zumba! It's a fantastic cardio workout and I mainly feel it in my legs. They have Zumba tone classes to that use free weights with Zumba music which is a good toning exercise as well. I say find a class and try it out before buying and DVD's. But, I have a feeling you will…
  • September 21st. You can google the 46 Mommas if you'd like. (And I am in no way, shape or form soliciting or asking for donations of any kind)
  • I'm about to shave my head at Union Station in Washington DC with 45 other Mommas to raise awareness and money for pediatric cancer research. That will be my claim to fame! :) Oh, and I've never met anyone famous...
  • I've dropped and gained the same 5 pounds for almost a year now and just found out I have HBP. I told my doctor my woes and he recommened following the South Beach Diet (low glycemic) so I thought, what the heck and started it about a week and a half ago. I'm now down 10 pounds! I have been pleasantly surprised with how…
  • There was thread recently on this very problem. The author said that the cause is most likely not cleaning your strap properly. I didn't know it should be hand washed after every use and laundered once a week if you use it daily. Just started doing this so I'll let you know if it works, but I've been getting really weird…
  • Last bump...:)
  • Less than 10 days away. Have you signed up yet? :)
  • Bump-a bump-a bump! I can't believe how quickly these post fall off the front page!
  • Bumpity bump!
  • Thanks!
  • Ahh, my feelings are hurt talking about Kaiden being played out. For the record, we picked that name before we knew how popular it was. :) My son's name is Kaiden August, the August after his great grandpa Melvin August (see why we went with August?). Kaiden means warrior! My son survived two brain surgeries, chemotherapy…
  • Yeah, add their Pumpkin spice scone for an extra 480 calories!!!! I would treat myself to one on occasion after a really hard boot camp session. I knew it had more calories than I usually consume for breakfast, but 480??? Good thing I got an Americano with it for 5 calories.
  • Congrats to you! I was there too, but I did the Relay. You've inspired me to try a half by myself. :)
  • One year ago today, I was in the ER with my 2 1/2 year old son, Kaiden, after a brain tumor triggered the seizure that let us know he had cancer. Now he is in remission and cancer-free according to all scans and tests. He took his final dose of chemotherapy last night. What a journey this has been. Starting this year, I…
  • It's the only reason I'm getting one. :) I go tomorrow and I can't wait to post a pic!
  • Going Friday to get my very first! I'm having a grey and gold cancer ribbon put on my shoulder with my son's name in it to represent his one year anniversary of his brain cancer diagnosis. He is now cancer free! His journey began March 25, 2010. www.caringbridge.org/visit/kaidenbrennfoerder
  • I'm routing for Aaron or Lisa (an Okie, like me). I like Jesse too. I'm excited about tonight's episode. I don't think Jillian or Bob could make me cry. Marine Drill Sergeant...oh yeah!
  • Our oncologist just declared my son in REMISSION!!! No signs of cancer!!!! What a glorious day!!!
  • Initial results of the MRI and spinal tap are clear!!! We might just be getting closer to saying my son is cancer free!!!
  • Love, LOVE the Biggest Loser!!! I didn't know it had started so I haven't caught up with the show yet. So glad for the online option! When I do get caught up (this weekend), I'd love to talk about the show!
  • Kaiden goes for his MRI/spinal tap today. Wish us luck! We start maintenance chemo tomorrow for 6 months. My son's a superhero with everything he's had to endure. Kids never cease to amaze me.
  • Thanks to everyone for their birthday wishes for my son. He had a great day!
  • Unbelievably so!!!
  • Thanks for all your replies. I'm always open to any suggestions, so feel free to offer advice, tips, motivation, etc... Kaiden's original prognosis was not great. It wasn't horrific, but it wasn't great either. Chances of children with his type of tumor (Grade 4, supratentorial primitive neuroectodermal tumor, sPNET) have…
  • Keep in mind that you can do all the sit-ups and ab exercises in the world, but if you don't incorporate cardio and a good diet into the mix, you will only build up your muscles underneath that nice layer of fat. Kickboxing is another great way to strengthen your core. Good luck and it can be done!
  • As an aerobics instructor at a gym, here's a few tips... 1. Take music so if anyone says anything negative, you can't hear it. 2. The first thing that crosses my mind when I see an overweight person in the gym is "good for him/her! Way to get in here and do something about it!" 3. You shouldn't have to pay for a trainer to…
