  • This was so me yesterday. I was stressing and feeling overwhelmed about so many things at once. Luckily I had most of my eating already planned, so I didn't do too badly. Realizing and acknowledging my emotional triggers is the first step. Then I have to remember that I have the power to choose how I react. Thanks for the…
  • Aaaauuuuggghhh. This has been a tough week... between not feeling very well at the beginning and getting back in the classroom to prepare for the start of school, I've been in a weird funk. HOWEVER! I only missed one day of exercise and I didn't gain any weight! All in all, not awful.
  • OH, MY GOODNESS, KELLY! I'M SO PROUD OF YOU!!!!
  • My starting weight as of Friday 7/29 was 133. Today, Friday, 8/5, it's 130.7 ! That's 2.3 gone! (Mother nature helped with that. :) gotta love her! :) As far as the 500/day.... *sigh* I must go to the back of the line... I've done my exercises, etc., and I'm sure I could've stepped it up several notches, but I had no way…
  • Yeah.... There are times I eat out that I don't worry about it, like if it's a "free" meal or especially if it's a special occasion or my favorite holiday, my birthday! :) But we eat out quite regularly, so I'm trying to watch it. :) I also know myself enough to know that if I ease up too much at first, I'll relapse back…
  • Yep! Definitely do this. I always do better when I plan and log what I'm going to eat before I go. Then there's no question. For example, we went to Chili's Monday evening. I had the chicken fajitas with corn tortillas instead of flour AND put back 1/2 of it in a to-go box before I started eating. I went to Taco Cabana…
  • You look incredible! What a year!
  • WOW, OH, WOW! GOOD FOR YOU!
  • SOOOO awesome, my friend! I LOVE it when that happens!
  • You go ahead and cry if you need to. There's healing in tears, and we're all here for you! *hugs*
  • grrr-ing for you! You're in the right place and it's the right time. You can do it! One day at a time! PRESS ON!
  • What a wonderfully comforting thought! No weirdness at all... Blessings...
  • ` My thoughts exactly! This new me is embracing a new lifestyle. There's no going back. No more school cafeteria food. (I started out in the school cafeteria & now teach 3rd gr. When I was there, we did all our own baking and forming of hamburgers, etc. Now it's all so processed & just heated up. sad.) When I go out to…
  • I LOVE Victoria's Secret! That's where I've found the best fit ever! 2 babies, 26+ years later, & my hubby is still happy. So am I!
  • You've inspired me to consider learning to run. How can I be 46 and not know how to run? EASY! It's HOT here (TX) so much of the year. The concrete sucks my energy. My breathing.... well... there doesn't seem to be any air out there. Time is a HUGE issue (teaching school is really a 12-14 hour a day job). :) The thought…
  • Those women are beautiful, and beauty is in the eye of the beholder for sure. I read an article once that said Madonna never uses weights over 2 lbs for her arms, just does more reps. That way she doesn't bulk up too much. I'm working toward less flab all over, but especially in my "last hoorah" places (arms, gut, &…
  • I try to get all my carbs from vegetables and fruit & a few whole grains. My body responds better without white stuff like breads, pasta, and potatoes.
  • What a great way to start the day! Thanks, Ed, for your motivation and pep. Thank you, too, for your service. (I have a nephew who just deployed from Ft. Hood a few weeks ago.) Press on, all you gorgeus MFPs! :)
  • Power 90 is the one before P90X... sculpting then cardio/abs for 6 days, then a day off. I just have no way (yet) to know how many calories I'm actually burning.
  • This is so exciting! What a great team we got going here! I'm struggling already though with this 500 a day challenge. I started P90 on 7/26 and today was my first day off. I have no idea how many calories I actually burn either. LOTS of good sweating going on. I've ordered Polar FT4, but it won't be here til next week....…
  • Excellent not giving in to peer pressure! (It never goes away.) I love the statement "Moderation not Deprevation" !
  • After being outside in 102 heat helping my hubby with the airconditioner, I still completed Power 90 Day 6!
  • Today is day 1! SOOO excited about this challenge! :) Go BLUE!
  • Sometimes I think that we Americans are so used to seeing heavier people that we think of that as being normal. I get the same comments, esp. since I'm short (5') and petite. While I want to lose another 13 lbs., my main focus is to be diligent with my workouts, learning persistence and perseverance. :) Welcome to MFP!…
  • We're on the same team! Congrats on the baby.... I nursed and walked my babies too, and was amazed at how the weight came off. And that was without really eating properly. If only MFP had been around back then. (My babies are 26 & 21 now.) :) There.... that's what I meant to do. LOL
  • hmmm... figuring out some technical issue.... where's the delete? lol
  • I'd love to do this! My first MFP challenge... am sending my info to Tiffypooh2u ! :)
  • I haven't been looking at their diaries.... never really thought about it until one of my friends' post said she completed her diary and that was it. Then I looked. She had gone over a little (don't we all at one point or another?), so I praised her for her honesty in her post. That took guts. It is a tricky thing to know…
  • Welcome to the club, Friend! :) My body just hasn't been the same after 40. Mom always said life started at 40, but what about being able to enjoy it?! Well, that's where this group comes in. So encouraging! So insightful!
